This is disappointing news... as this currently in clinical trials here in the USA!

Seikagaku Halts Development of New Interstitial Cystitis Drug
Tokyo (JCNN) - Seikagaku has announced that it has decided to halt the development of "SI-7201," a drug candidate for treatment of interstitial cystitis, which is currently under clinical testing in the US. Having made this decision, the company has also dissolved its alliance with Nippon Shinyaku regarding the collaborative development and distribution of the drug in Japan. SI-7201 is a Sodium Hyaluronate product.

This is disappointing.. I never heard of this drug... do you have any input on it?,, any IC meds at this point are welcome :D there are so few.

I guess since this disease doesn't kill people it just isn't profitable to make it, eh? I'm sorry, but my cynacism runs amok...(Hey should be a new e name, cynacismRUNamok...too long) Anyway...That's bad news, but glad to know it's D/C'd....is anyone else working on anything?

I'm nearly finished with a special newsletter that covers all new research studies including several new potential therapies. So, hold tight for a few days and it will be out shortly indepth. VERY ENCOURAGING....

I hadn't worked with this company directly.... so don't have any comment on it. But what we can say is that if the research results didn't show any success... then there is no reason for them to continue it. Better that they cut their losses and focus on a potential new therapy that could work. Right?? Right!

I think this is discouraging news but I believe everything happens for a reason ! It is encouraging that new ideas are being looked at and hopefully they will be bigger and better ! :) Kelly
