I have Vulvodynia as well as IC and it seems they like to both flare together. The Vulvodynia (for me) is the external burning/irritation at the 'urine exit' of my urethra. It is so painful to the touch it makes sex dreadful. I'm already dreading it due to the pain the IC is causing my bladder; however, got to keep husband happy, and honestly, even though it hurts, I'm already hurting so I try to give in occasionally. I can't handle the mental stress from unhappy husband in combo with physical pain...yadda yadda yadda.

Anyway, my Gyn/Uro Rx'd me a cream from a compounding pharmacy called GALE 3/3/5/2 Ointment, Mfg: CMP, Qty: 30GM. Not sure what all the #'s mean but pretty sure they're percentages of something. I apply this to the painful area before each urination and after a bath. It works well to numb this pain and is the only thing that works for me. It alleviates pain upon entry of intercourse. And, also during intercourse, it seems that I can tell where that exact spot is bc it seems like he nails it with entry/exit. This cream has definitely been great for me. And you use a very small amt each time and it's relatively inexpensive.

Just an fyi...thx, lulu

Hi Lulu,

I would like to try the GALE oniment you talked about. Where did you buy it? Is this an RX only product? I could not find it on the internet.

Thanks,

JC

Hi JC,

Yes, it is an Rx and it is also something you have to have made at a Compounding Pharmacy...not just a standard Rx.

This is the pharmacy I use http://www.medaus.com/. They could possibly provide you with more info.

Thx, Luanne
