Hello all, I have not been on for a couple of weeks. I finally went on Jan. 3st to see the Uro Doctor. That did not go well. He did a urine culture and it was negative for everything. He also ordered a CT Scan. When I mentioned the systoms that I had been going thru for months, he was not very supportive at all. I asked anout IC and he said it was a overrated medical term. I was even more frustrated. I did get a copy of the scan report and the scan on disk. I plan on seeing another doctor as soon as I can find one. However I need help. The scan showed Phleboliyhs thru out the Pelvic area. It also said I have a cyst on my spleen!!!! I know from the ulltrasound that my Pelvic area is also covered from scar tissue and ahesions from 6 prior surgerys. Can anyone help me and say what Phleboliths is and if that could be IC? I tried to ask the doctor about what was going on and was told I am overreacting? I am just so frustrated. :cussing: The pain is so intense somedays. My husband just got out of ICU from Back Surgery, and I have him all day to take care of and the house and kid's.:loco: I am trying to find time to help me too, but I am just so frustrated right now. Any help would be great. Thanks For being so supportive. Tami :help:

Tami you are not over-reacting at all. If this doctor continue to not give you the information you ask or help you to understand what is going on, I definitely would find other doctor.
I am so sorry that you are under of alot of stress now. I would be too. This saying, "about overrated medical term', it is easy for this doctor to say that because he is not the one that has it.
I don't know if you have IC or not, but you do have other health issues, but I would continue to find out the truth. Hope you find someone that will listen and help you to understand. You have a right to know, this is your health too.
Hope you start feeling better soon.

TOO much too much. How do you do it?
What a jerk you have for a doctor. I hope you find someone soon. How does he know what you feel like, Isn't he suppose to help?
If he had test results or even thoughts about your conditions he should explain in common terms what he thinks and what to do about it.

I have to agree it sounds like you need to see a different urologist for a second opinion. If you have an abdomen full of adhesions, that could be the source of a lot of your pain.

I agree with the others.. please see a new doc. :)
Tami,
I tried to look up the condition your doctor named, but couldn't find an exact match. Could it be "Phlebitis"? I looked up an online medical dictionary, but a doctor would be best to explain. I would leave this doctor and get another ASAP, which it sounds like you are doing because you have your CAT Scan. Way to go!! No one should be put up with that type of medical care! Sorry, it just really burns me you were treated with such disregard.
Best wishes on finding an answer,

Phlebitis (Deep Vein Thrombosis) http://www.medicinenet.com/deep_vein_thrombosis/index.htm
Deep Vein Thrombosis Center
Deep Vein Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot in a vein located deep in the muscles of the legs, thighs, pelvis (lower torso), or arms. A pulmonary embolism occurs when a piece of a blood clot from a DVT breaks off and travels to an artery in the lung where it blocks the artery and damages the lung. The most common symptoms of a deep vein thrombosis are swelling and pain in the leg that has the blood clot. The most common symptoms of a pulmonary embolism are shortness of breath, chest pain, and a rapid heart rate. A DVT is difficult to diagnose without specific tests in which the deep vein system can be examined.

I guess I am stronger than I ever knew when all of this hit me. I just prayed for strength and got it. Thank You all for such great support. Pelvic phleboliths are common and are generally considered to be harmless. It is usually a calcified vessel in the pelvis that is commonly seen on X-rays.
