I wish I had some ideas for you Ronda, I'm not getting my hubby anything this year because we're broke and the car isn't working. Honestly though he wouldn't want anything more than some good sex anyway, hahaha. I got the kids some candy when I went to the grocery store on Sunday and asked him if he wanted some too and he said no so I'll probably send him an ecard and that'll be it.

I got him a tattoo..but that may not be the thing for your sweetie. I knew he's been planning to get one for some time now.
Lets see...chocolates? An invite to go out to dinner?
Or how about those Valentine Coupon Books? Like it'll have coupons for "A back massage for 20min" or "grant my wish. I want____________" & he gets to fill in hte blank. Stuff like that.
Or what about a cozy dinner at home with a movie HE likes and end it with cupcakes with those silly conversation heart candies on top. ;)
Or go for the practical...a box of hand and toe warmers with a card that says he'll now have warm hands and warm toes to match his warm heart (OK it's, cheesy I know) But they come in handy if he works outside or goes hunting, fishing, goes to a hocky game? Ok so now I'm grasping :lmao:
Maybe somebody else will come up with some good ideas :)

Well my husband and I have been marry for 26 years on Feb. 7th. We usually do something together on the 7 instead on the 14. We went to a nice resturant and spend some time together. It was nice. Instead of trying to buy expense gifts, we try to make plans where we can be together. Just me and my hubby.

Well ... I got him something kind of ... naughty. And that I hope will please him even though there is no chance of our engaging in ordinary 'marital relations.'
Then the jerk goes and tells me he has to take a business trip out of town, Wednesday-Thursday. I told him he better make arrangements to take Friday off!
If I asked him what he wanted, he'd probably ask for a new saw, or something, so I don't ask!

I read in the newspaper this weekend about a newly opened chocolate store so the husband and I just 'had' to venture today to check it out--:D. I'm a huge fan of chocolate dipped apples and how coinkinkydinkal that this is one of their specialties! So, a chocolate cappucino, coffee, 4 chocolate bars, some mints, a few single chocolate pieces and 2 chocolate covered apples (one with "the works" and one peanut butter chocolate) later our 'fix' will hopefully be satisfied! :D
Happy V-Day y'all!
:hi:

I'll make mine a valentine card and probably make him a new shop apron. He really likes it when I make him something.

Out of the 5 Valentine's Days since we've been together, we've managed to spend 2 with each other, lol. Usually due to work and then for a few of them he still lived 3 hours away and of course it was always in the middle of the week.... This year of course, he's on 2nd shift, so I won't get to see him but for only an hour when I come home for lunch. He won't get home until I'm long asleep, lol.
Sooooooo, all he's been bugging for is what I'd planned on doing anyway, since we too are broke - baking his favorite treats, and I too will probably make him a card as well. I feel bad, I don't have any new "I Love You Because" things to add to his book that I add to every year - hmmm, think I will work on that tonight, in lieu of a card! ;)

Traceann,
I think I will make my hubby something to, like a personal card made off the computer.. he likes things like that, and he loves sweets so I will prob get him some candy.. I wanted to get him something nice, but he spent most of our extra money on my bday present..grrrr I told him I didnt want nothing..But hey hes a man and he just does not listen..lol So I get diamonds and he gets a paper card...lol sounds good to me!...
Nah... I really like the simple things..:smile tee

I wasnt sure what to get him but I went on to 1-800-flowers.com and found something really cute!!! It's a huge fortune cookie with chocolate and sprinkles on it. You can custom make a message that they put in it. It comes in a clear take out container. How cute is that??? I thought it was adorable! I hope he likes it. I'll be happy with a box or chocolate and some..... ya know!
got him some lovely chocolates and a cute cake with a big heart on it.
How bout you? are you having a meal together?

I got him a fancy dinner on Saturday night, since we are going through my permanent Interstim this week and it is hectic, but he got food poisoning from it :( :(
Other than that, because I am currently tied up to a cord and box, I find it hard to go shopping -- so nothing.
It's a terrible Valentine's in the romance dept. -- but I'm sure when both of us are healthy again we will make up for it. :)

We don't make a big deal out of Valentine's day but I usually get him some lingerie from Fredrick's of Hollywood. He always seems to enjoy that.;)

Yeah, leelee, I'll probably do the same thing - make him a card. I love doing that stuff anyway, and he's not really into store-bought cards etc, so I think that and some cookies and cupcakes will make him a happy camper, lol.

Well, we're getting married tomorrow down at the courthouse, so I guess that's a gift we're giving each other! :) Other than that, nothing much since we're going away for a few days next week.

Congrats to you, Poet, on getting married tomorrow! I hope you have a wonderful day!
I bought those little heart shaped pans that hold cupcakes, only I am making individual lasagnas, in them and the garlic bread will also be heart shaped. (For those ICers who cant eat lasagna, meatloaf could also be made in them.) Then, for dessert, red velvet cake, again in the heart shape. I am also tossing a salad.

Thank you! Hopefully we won't be on line forever with everyone else who decided Valentine's Day would be a perfect time to get married (we picked it partly because we had the time available in our schedule.)
The heart-shaped lasagna sounds great! Yum!

I like how everyone's giving gifts from the heart. My first Valentine's with my husband I got him a telescope. Other than that, I haven't given him many gifts for Valentines. I gave him a chocolate bar and cookies yesterday. He loved them and asked me to get him some more of the cookies to keep in his truck. I know he really wants some floor mats for his truck, but I didn't plan early enough to get those.
Last year, I made some creme brule for a dessert. The year before that I got him some root beer and candy. I made reservations at a nice restaurant for this year. I might surprise him with some DVDs, if I have time. I'd like to arrange a nice home movie night for the weekend. A gift certificate to Blockbuster and some licorice might be an idea.
My friend once drove her husband some Taco Bell for lunch and he couldn't have been happier. It's the thoughtful things like that, that will really stand out.

Poetgirl, congratulations. Now, hopefully, your husband won't forget your wedding anniversary!!
I give my husband his stuff this morning. He was surprise as he didn't realize that they made sugarfree turtles!!
Yesterday, since my husband runs his own delivery service, he delivered my gift to the office, it was my bear that I got from "build a bear" a few years ago and he bought it a new outfit for Valentine's Day with a balloon and a small bouquet of flowers to it. The front desk call me down to tell me I had a delivery and since I get packages all the time I was very surprise at this as my husband usually waits till the last minute to do anything!!

Love is in the air...Congrats, Poet. What a wonderful day to get married. I am very happy for you.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
Late Monday night so he would find it on Tuesday morning, I put a card on Hubby's keyboard which included a love letter. He put one of those musical cards on my keyboard so I would find it when I got on my computer, yesterday. He came home last night from work with a dozen long stem red roses for me.
Last night, I put another card on his keyboard and included a bag of M&M's. He gave me a gift certificate for a Manicure and Pedicure this morning. Today, I am going to bake him some Brownies.
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
