I have slept so well the past few days but between Tom snoring, and my upset stomach, and probably the prednisone, I am wide awake and drinking hot tea. I'm going to go sleep in my little boy's room tonight since he's up at his Dads for the night. I just can't fall asleep and if I've got to be awake and reading I'd rather do it in a bed of some sort rather than the couch! I'm so tired....I was so wired earlier, and I think that those other icky side effects of this prednisone are starting to kick in. I was sleeping SO good there for a few nights! :( Where are all the night owls at tonight?

Hi there!

If its any consolation I was up at 3am too! :-(
Its a shame we dont live in the same country as we could have had a good chat!
I know how you feel though, I had a good few night sleep last week but tonight I cant get to sleep and I'm in aflare!
Its so frustration as I have to be up at 6am every morning which is so hard when I've not had any sleep and a painful bladder.
Well I really hope you manage to get some sleep tonight in stead

take care

Hi Sandy! I'm here! No sleep yet for me either! :( It is 5:19 am here, and I havent been able to sleep at all yet. I have to go to the DMD later. This always happens when I have to go somewhere the next day and wont be able to sleep in. GRRR!! Hope you finally made it and that I can at least get a nap in before I go! Many hugs, Amy

Wide a wake here also all night just to sick to turn on the PC until now.
It started with a flare from you know where then to a migraine and ended with cookie tossing until about 3AM. Next time I will check in I promise for those 3 AM'ers

I wish I would have known that people were on in the middle of the night, lol. I had horrible diarreha (I have no idea if I'm spelling that right but feel too crappy to care) all last night and was up and down the whole night. I finally got some sleep this morning before I called my boss and told her there was no way I could come in today with the way I feel. Between me being sick and hubby not feeling well this will already be the 4th day I've missed this year! Thank goodnes my boss knows that I really hate to miss work and really care about my job. I still feel really crappy because everytime I go to drink something, like to take my Elmiron it makes my bowels wake up again and then I'm running to the bathroom. I hope everybody else is starting to feel better at least :toilet:

I was up, but too busy dealing with my hubby, who was up with bloody diarrhea and vomiting all night -- we're going to the doc this am.

I'm so sorry the prednisone side effects have kicked in :grouphug:

Ah yes, the Prednisone side effects, ugh! I was a crazy lady! I'd go to sleep, but was up at like 5:30-6am without an alarm clock! ECK! But, I did get a lot of stuff done, lol. It was go-go-go-go!

Oh geez Jen, do keep us posted on hubby eh?

I guess I was on the other end of the sleeplessness --- I was laying in bed awake until almost 3:00, then slept until 6:00.

Now I'm up for the day.

Leslie, is it your kidney stone making you stay awake last night??? I hope by now you're feeling better and have passed the darn thing.

Jen, how is your husband??? It's a good thing he's got you there to take care of him. Let me know how he is.

It is rare that I am on here in the middle of the night, but when I am there is usually someone that I know I can talk to! Next time you have insomnia check the board! LOL

I've been dozing all day, literally....slept great from about 3:45 to 6 in my son's bed, Tom went to work so I went and got back in our bed, and slept on and off, mostly OFF til about 10 minutes ago....1:15, and now I'm like OKKKKK LETS GO LETS GO! My mind is OFF and theres no stopping it now!

Maybe it IS a good thing I reduce my dose today???????? I drop to 40/day for 4 days now....

That is always my schedule. I don't even think about getting on the computer...That is usually when I catch up with my shows that I TIVOed. My sleep pattern is so horrible. For the last couple of weeks as soon as I would get home and settled, I would drift off to sleep while watching TV. I would try to get up and clean or something when I will feel myself drifting, but I couldn't get anything done. I sleep for about 3 hours and then as soon as hubby is settling in for bed, I am wide awake. I take my sleep meds and normally drift off again around midnight then am wide awake again at 3:30 or so. I finally go back to med around 5:00 to 5:30 and sleep well until 7:30. I am not drowsy during the day. Last Friday night, I was up until about 6:30 am and then slept until early afternoon. I can't even say that the freq/urg is what wakes me up. I normally go just because I got up, but I do have pain, but it's not too high on the pain scale. I take normally a half of a 10mg Lortab, but still can't go back to sleep. I am on valium, Lyrica, amitrytiline, and 30 mgTemazepam (generic for Restoil) and B&O supp.

I keep wondering if I need to be in some sort of sleep study since I can
t seem to find a med to keep me asleep. It's not like I was a few months ago that I would be in a flare and couldn't sleep. Any thoughts??? I have tried the meditation, reading books, just lying there, etc.

Tracey, I take Ambien CR. It does work most of the time, but I still have those nights, like last night every now and then. I suspect this time it was more the prednisone making me wired out than anything. I had a major stomach ache and just can't lay in the bed like that either....I'm not a man and refuse to poot under the covers! LOL

I also used to take regular Ambien and that, I think, worked better for me than the CR. Lots of people have success with Lunesta, but it does have a side effect of leaving a HORRIBLE metal like taste in your mouth, which is bad enough it keeps me from sleeping.

mine husband/baby related.. baby had a nightmare, I got him settled down, and he was still fussing but not crying, hubby came in the bedroom and started talking to him and gave him tropical punch kool-aide.. what was he thinking....... he should not have gone in there and talked to him. he would have gone back to sleep................... guess who will be getting him some chocolate at bed time, and leave him with daddy to deal with at bed time. he he he

I think we were all up, I was up on and off going to the bathroom, and really couldn't get back to sleep because of that and the dogs, they kept on getting to the pillows, so I just took one of the pillows and went to the livingroom and read for a couple of hours (2-4) till I fell back to sleep this morning. (actually its most morning. Then someone said to me today, that I looked "Chipper" I told her wait till the end of the week and tell me that again!
(usually by Thursday I do not look chipper!! Hope most of you can and or have been able to take a little nap this afternoon while some of us had to go to work.
