I have noticed many IC'er has acid reflux. I just wonder if any get this to the point it hurt in the chest, up into esophagus, in the ear, and in the back, mostly on the right side of the back.

If you do, what are you taking for it.

Thank you, Trishann

With those symptoms (well, I don't know about the ear) it could be your gallbladder. Please go see a doctor!

I would get it checked out....please see your doctor. Your doctor can prescribe medication to help with that. I had it real bad once and had to elevate my head while I slept and I took Prevacid. It took about 3-4 weeks to get it under control. Sometimes liquid Maalox also helps. Mine never did hurt in the ear area though.

I have to agree that it sounds like doctor time.

Well, I do know it is acid reflux and I know that my esophagus is damaged and I am taking Nexium for it. But I just wonder if anyone get those severe spasms that goes into the esophagus. If so, what else are you taking for it. Do you take anything else for the attacks you have sometimes?

Carolyn I know that it is not my gallbladder, it was taken out sometime ago.

I do take Maalox sometimes for it but it makes me feel sick when I take it.

I just wonder if there is anything else for the pain attack issue.

Thanks, Trishann

Oh, my goodness. I've been dealing with what feels like some acid reflux lately, but have been in denial. My hubby was just diagnosed with it, so I thought maybe it was sympathy pain of sorts. I know for him that many times he has chest pain and pressure. He's been to a cardiologist a few times to have his heart checked, even though he's young. I don't think his ear has ever bothered him, though.

I guess I didn't realize acid reflux was common among ICers. If it keeps up, I'll talk to my family doc. Sometimes I think it's just what I've eaten that bothers it. But, shoot, I don't want to have to monitor diet for that, too.
