What kind of jam/jelly do you use???? All the ones that I find have ascorbic acid in them. What about Pectin?? Does it cause a problem? Guess I am afraid to try it out. :bonk:
TIA

Most all of the big brand name jams/jellies do contain ascorbic or citric acid. It's hard to find one without. I have found a couple of imported brands in specialty stores that are safe for me, but they aren't found in most regular grocery stores. The ICN Shop on this website does have a couple of good ones available that are safe for many of us. I love the Cinnamon Pear Jelly sold here.
Imported Hero brand has a blueberry jam with just blueberries & sugar. You have to check the label & read the ingredients, because not all Hero blueberry jam is citric acid free. I think my dad got me this jam at Andronico's (a specialty grocery in the Bay Area).
Otherwise, I use butter & honey on my toast. Or, I get Dulce de Leche spread at the Oakville grocery (another specialty shop), it's a caramel spread used on bread toast in Argentina.
