too many meds!!

I have a question. I was just diagnosed with IC and my doctor has given me so many things to take its getting confusing. They make me feel dizzy and tired. Like im going to pass out. im taking:
elmiron 2 3x a day
hydroxyzine 2x day
oxybutynin 3x day
flomax 2x a day
hydrocodiene as needed

I really dont understand what all these are for. Im scared of side affects especially when i take them together. Does anybody else take any of these? im scared. I just want to feel better. I hope they work. its been a few days since ive been on them

:hi: and :welcome: to the board! We're glad to have you here! I would stop taking all those new meds at once and try them one at a time, gradually adding in a new one every week or so. That way you know what is causing you to be dizzy, and what the other side effects are. The hydroxyzine can make you feel very sleepy and dizzy.

Sandy had a great suggestion about trying one medication at a time. That way you can see what is causing the side effects and what medications are helping. You should ask your doctor about doing that.

The oxybutynin I think can also cause dizziness. I would definitely talk to my doc about picking one or two to start with and building from there, tell your doc of the troubles you are having. It's definitely worth a phone call! ;)
