I really don't know what the reason is for this. We use astroglide, or ky. I pefer the asteroglie it lasts longer, and its not sticky.

Hi Bea,
It could be due to all of the new meds you may be taking. I had the same problem when I started using Depo for birth control. The only thing you can really do is use lots of lube. Just steer clear of the "warming" kinds because they tend to cause IC patients irritation. I made that mistake one time and I swear I was buring from the inside out! :cussing:
this started way before the meds.. I am almost thinking it is psychological.. I just cant get. .tmi.. wet... need lube and then I am fine.. I also dry up quick.. anyone else

Well, that would be a mystery then! Forgive me for saying this, but could it be age related? Ugh I hate saying that, lol. But I know that in the late 30's things can change - I have no idea your age or anything, but was just throwing that one out there! ;) Please forgive me! ;)
Could it be your hormones are out of whack? Or it could be a new effect of one of the meds. Those things can be sneaky that way. I found that when my Ditropan dried EVERYTHING up, taking flaxseed oil 3x's a day was amazing. At first I was skeptical, but then when husband made a comment about it being like the "Old Tracey", lol, I knew it was working... ;) I did too clear it with my doc, and one of them was happy to hear it so they could refer it to their patients who do take drying medications...
Whatever is going on, personal lube can do the trick. I love Astroglide and use it whether I think I need it or not. I read somewhere that during the "encounter" you only produce so much natural lubrication, so if things take a bit longer or what have you, it can start to dry up....
Do keep us posted, I am sure there's lots of women around here who are very interested in overcoming this phenomena!! ;)
don't worry about the age thing.. LOL I am actually 31.. and have been having this problem since my early 20's.. I just think I don't know what I think LOL it just sucks!!!!! I will try the flax maybe that will help.. thanks

LOL! It's got to just be the way your body works, eh? It's natural state, nothing wrong just the way it is! I'm 37 so it was painful for me mention, lol. I hate age-related things like that! WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
The flaxseed oil caps really did help me out immensely, I can't believe what it managed to do for me - and my sex life and my food life (Lack of spit makes it hard to chew, lol)

I like you never had problems the first 10 to 13 years of my IC in this department whatsoever. For me, it seems like when the fibromyalgia came so did this problem big time, but with me it could have to do with my age and getting close to perimenopause.

HI! I've had IC for almost 30 yrs......and have been plagued with vaginal dryness for the last 5 yrs.....I'm 50 now though and I think some of it's due to menopause and part's due to the meds I take. I have to use an allergy pill every day and that's very drying.
You said you are only 31 but that doesn't mean your hormones aren't a little outta wack for whatever reason.
Hope you get your problem figured out because I know.....it's not a fun thing to have! Good luck! Roxie
thanks for your help ladies.. unfortunately this has been happening since my early 20's and I still keep saying it is pshychological cause I am afraid of the pain.. I have no clue. according to examinations everything works okay down there.. I just can't well you know.. uggggggg

Well, yeah, fear can be a pretty good motivator, lol. ;) Have they done blood tests to check your hormone levels? Ask your doc if you can take the flaxseed, it may help you out as well as it did for me!! :)
