I am new to this site and would like help on how to use it.
I have IC/IBS and want to know more about procedures I will be having.
I will be having a cystoscpy Hydrodistention and botox for the first time I would like to know what to expect. How much pain? for How long? will I be able to pee on my own after? I have now clue how to get any response from this if someone could direct me that would be great.
Thank you

I have tried many medications I have the interstim implant received it a year ago. It does not help the bladder at all. It really helps my IBS. We are now going to try Botox. I would like to know how painful Botox and Cystoscopy with hydrodistention is. will I need a few days off from work?

Welcome!

At the top of this page is the words "ICN SUPPORT "with a blue flower and the tag line "Message Boards & Chats on IC, PBS & PFD" just under that.... select the 3rd link fromt he left that says "PATIENT HANDBOOK" its like a handbook for IC and has all differnt resources from different types of treatments to Doctors and Transcripts of Professionals who've visited with us in the past and past online "discussions".

As far as getting a response, try to post in the appropiate forum (like you did here) and hopefully somebody or people will get back to you if they feel they can help you...If not post again... the boards are huge and so many people are here...its easy for posts to get buried, Please don't take it personally, K?

Good Luck and post away, and we'll try and help :hi:
BTW I have no expereince with Botox so I can't help you there. Sorry, but perhaps someone else can :)

If you look right under where you sign in there is a tab that says new posts. THat will give you all the new post from your last visit. Your post will have a check mark in the box to let you know that you have responded to that post.

HI I'm curious what you have tried for your IBS? I had SEVERE IBS for many years. I tried many presciptions and my dr. kept telling me that I needed lots more fiber to help the symptons. Finally he told me to "eat prunes!" As a last resort I bought a container of Sunsweet dried prunes.....and Whalllaaaaaaa! It worked! I no longer fight the constipation or diarrhea that plagued me for many years. I eat 5 or 6 each morning with my yogert. I don't eat any other dairy products, night shade vegetables or other IBS no-no foods.
Just wanted to tell you this since it's such an easy fix. I have several other friends who are also using the prunes to reduce and end their IBS pain.
Good luck, Roxie

As far as Botox goes, I have no idea how that would be... but I have had a cysto/hydro, and it was not that bad. I could pee on my own afterwards, although the urine was bloody for a day or so and it burned more than usual. I was given good pain control though, so it was okay. I was back to normal in a few days.
