Could all of you that have had success with TENS please tell me where you purchased your TENS unit and what brand/model name it is?
Also, how often do you use it? Does it provide pain relief for awhile even after you take it off?
Thanks much-DAWN

My dr. wrote a prescription for it and I got it at a Medical Supply Store. Hope this helps.

I have had good luck with a T.E.N.S. unit. I place two pads over my bladder and the other two on each side toward the bottom of my pelvic bone.

Try to get a unit with replaceable pads because the more permanent ones stop sticking.

Hi,
I was in to see the Uro. today.. First visit since I was dignosed a month ago..He spent 45 min with me just talking. I have been using a TENS unit for back pain and it sure helped. My husband got it on Pres. so our medical plan covered it..
I asked the Uro about using it on the bladder.. He sort of chuckled and said "it might help but I would be curious about where you would put the pads".. He said directly over the bladder might upset the bowel or other things-- not his exact words but something like that. He showed me a place on the inner side of calf (leg) that has nerves somehow related to the bladder and back and recommended I use just two pads there. I will give it a try when in pain again!
Hope we all get some relief!
Love,Pam

Dawn~

I used a TENS unit last year and my Dr wrote a script for it and then I went to a therapist and she showed me were to put the pads and such.. they call it a TENS fitting. The thing I wanted to tell you was I have been seeing a physical therapist again recently and she has been using what is called an E-Stim. It has 2 settings on it, one for pain and the other for urgency. It does not have the pads though, it is an internal probe.. don't freak out though, it is about 2 inches long... it has not ever caused me pain to have it in. This has been really helpful for me as well as the biofeedback that I have also done. I am renting one of the E-Stim's so I can have it at home and it is $55 a month or $350 to buy.. and your rental fee's go towards the purchase price.

I hope this helps you. Let us know how it works out for you. If you have any questions about the E-Stim, just PM me. grouphug

God Bless,
Lori

I'm thinking of getting one. I've never used it, but my acupuncturist does it with needles instead of pads. I get them in 3-4 rows of 2 right over my tailbone and it REALLY helps. Nerves going from your bladder to your brain go through this spot. I think it shorts the circuit of "I have to pee" pulses.
