Wind: Southwest at 13 MPH20 KPHHumidity: 62%Dewpoint: -11°F-23°CBarometer: 30.09 inches and risingWind Chill: -19°F-28°CSunrise: 7:42 am Sunset: 5:49 pm

Todays forcast:

Today: frigid, blustery, & snowy. Mostly cloudy with numerous snow showers. Accumulations 1 to 2 inches. Highs 4 to 8. West winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent. Wind chill readings down to around 15 below.

Do not leave your pets out more then 3 mins, yesterday our local animal shelter had to come out and remove a cats frozen paws off the sidewalk.
Dress very very warm, hats gloves, extra socks, boots, very warm coat.
have a blanket in your car, a cell if possible, if not do what I do carry enough change for at least 4 phone calls.. 911 is free on any pay phone..
IT is expected to get colder, so please do not get out unless it is necessary..

If you start your car to warm it up, especially if you have little ones, have a spare set of keys and lock the doors.. not only is it a fine, some one could steal yout car..

KEEP WARM>>

It's going to be freezing here too, at least by North Carolina standards! It's going to drop to 10 degrees tonight, which is very rare here!

Hi! I feel for y'all. I'm from Nebraska but live in Houston, TX. now. We have had the blistery weather down here for the past few week but today, finally, it's suppose to warm up to 65. I'm tired of covering and then uncovering my plants and cactus so they won't freeze. I'm SO ready for spring!!

Yupe, same cold weather here. was a warm zero when I went out this morning. Windchills below that. I feel sorry for all the wild animals and just how do they stay warm? My neighbor put his dog out this afternoon for a while. Don't know why he does that every afternoon. Should let the dog out to go potty and take him back in. How awful about the frozen cat paws. Someone dropped off their cat here and I have been feeding it now. It's hiding out under the junk in the shed. It won't come near me so they must have been mean to it.

Cindy,
You really are right about locking your car when you are warming it up. A couple of weeks ago the woman right down the street from me had her car stolen when she ran inside for a minute while working up her car. She was only inside for maybe 2 minutes but didn't lock her car and when she came back out it was gone. I just noticed that it's back out in front of her house so they must have finally found it. We live in a really quite neighborhood and you would never think that would happen. I make sure I lock up my car now every morning when I'm warming it up

I'm with ya!! I have 3 job interviews this week which is a very good thing but did they ALL have to be in the coldest week we've had in years?? Defintely NOT wearing dresses or skirts for these, more like sweater, turtleneck & dress pants is the best they're gonna get from me, LOL! My cats are hogging the heat too, they're laying in front of the vents cuz it's so cold outside. Thank god it's sunny though that helps a tiny bit. :cat:

I feel for you guys!! I live in Austin, Texas- we had our cold weather a few weeks ago, and they closed EVERYTHING DOWN FOR 2 DAYS!! We were supposed to have another cold front come in last weekend, but it went East instead so we had some nice weather (60's during the day but cold in the early mornings) Today it was 40 degrees when I walked out the door to go to work!! It's going to be in the 70's today. Later this week who knows what it's going to be? It could be hot or cold.
