I'm one of the few people on the site who's IC isn't affected by sex. However being in pain doesn't create much interest and losing my estrogen and not being able to replace it with anything means arousal isn't very possible except with external vibrator in conjunction with him but whatever it takes...

I was reluctant to, but I just had sex 2 days ago. Some tips for good sex are:
Use a lubricant with no additives, no warming, etc. Take 3 advil before, 3 later on. Use a heating pad or ice pack ( freeze water in a ziplock) if you have pain after ( I use an ice pack on my abdomen or lower). Wash before and after and pee before 30 min after.
God bless:angel:

Sunnydawn - thanks for the oral sex tip - that made me laugh - but I think that makes sense, because in giving pleasure, you can relax into it and get turned on which can make your body less tense.

It's never a good idea to exceed the package directions on an over-the-counter medication without first discussing it with your physician.
Taking six Advil over a period of only a few hours could have very serious consequences.
