I have had diagnose of ic for several yrs now and im in pain all the time ,,, i have the interstim and i take meds but nothing helps . I have seen this tens come up in several blogs and i dont know what it is ,, thanks for the help,, love this site. christy::pray:

They normally try the TENS unit on you before they do the interstim. It is a box that has probes that adhere to your skin in the areas that you have pain and you can set the pulsing sensation. Mine worked for awhile, but I found it kind of cumbersome since you had to hook it to your waistband. There were also times that I would shock myself. I have the interstim, so my insurance made me try the TENS unit. My physical therapist monitored provided it to me.

If you are as old as me, you may remember a few years ago when they were advertising the little machines that would make your muscles restrict and contract for you in turn causing you to lose weight. Pretty much the same thing, but ask people found out, they didn't cause you to lose weight.
