View Full Version : Think my Uro is Crazy!!
Good crazy, like nuts, a little fruity. She knows her stuff, but wow, Mike refuses to go in with me the next time. She asked how I was doing, and all that, then she asked about our sex life. When I told her it was fine, she high-fived me and gave Mike the thumbs up, and told him he better be careful or with all that he'd get me pregnant! She was just so overjoyed at the fact that we are doing okay in the bedroom. I was just like, hey, not my main concern here, would rather high-five about the pain and frequency going down, but she just seemed more interested in the other. Not the first crazy experience I've had with her. Last appointment she was talking about cathing and how its easier for a man b/c he can see what he's doing-she demonstrated this pretending she had one! Then she demonstrated how its harder for a women b/c-as she's contorting her body so her face is in her-well, you can imagine-women can't see what they're doing very well. It was actually quite comical, though I just keep having that picture of her engraved in my mind's eye. And you thought you're doc was nuts!

At least she keeps things up beat and happy. Plus you never know what she will say at your next appointment. :lmao:

That is funny. I think it's an awesome bedside manner as long as she isn't ignoring IC.
I really hope you start feeling better soon.
Keeping you in my prayers,
Tracey
She really is a great dr. She knows her stuff too. She's very up to date on all the IC treatments, and willing to try the new stuff. She has a lot of IC patients that she's dealt with. My only complaint would be that she spreads herself pretty thin. She's always running here and there, and sometimes has to cancel appointments cause she's overbooked, or one time I waited for 3hrs for my appointment. But she's good, and I think that she genuinely wants to help as many people in a day as she can. I'm not a women's Lib or anything like that, but I have had the best luck with female drs. I'll never see a male again-for anything. They just don't have the same parts as us. I saw 2 male uros before and neither seemed to give a darn about my problems, and to them the pain just can't be that bad. I know they aren't all that way, its just a personal preference. She told me too that the IC network was a great place to be on, b/c even she admitted that no one really knows how it feels unless they've experienced it themselves.

Hi Leah,
It's so nice to hear something positive about a Uro.
I had the same expeirence as you with male Uro's and also chose to go with a female Uro who also spreads herself too thin and haveing to wait for long periods of time. I think in general that's how it is with most doctor's today, not to say they do not want to help because alot of them do, however there are the 1's unfortunatly where all they pretty much see is dollar signs.
I wish more people can have a Uro like you do.
Sounds like your on the right road to starting to feel better, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
:)
