Hey there everyone! I have was diagnosed with IC a year ago. I am on lots of pain medicine and I hate it. I got pregnant in OCT and lost the baby in DEC. My husband and I have tried for years to get pregnant, so it was a tremendously painful event. I want to try again but first I want off of these meds. I am on about 10 thousand mg norco (hydrocodon) a day. They said it would not hurt the baby but I do not believe them. I want to be med free with this next pregnancy (if I am blessed with one). I have read before that there is a topical cream that you can get to stop urethra pain. Please advise me where to get the cream and if I need a prescribtion. Urethra pain is one of my biggest complaints. I also need a good instill cocktail. My OBGYN does not know anything about IC, so I am going to have to figure out everything I need and tell her. Also, does anyone know if the lidocaine instills are safe during pregnancy, or if there is an alternate pain relief for pregnancy. I have severe IC and I feel hopeless about having a baby. I am in severe pain without intervention. I feel as though this is running my life and I want so bad to take control. Please help you ladies are so full of experiance. You are lifesavers here.

I am very sorry you lost your baby and really hope you can do it again. My prayers are with you.

I read from someone on this board that almond milk helps with the urethral pain and decided to try it, since I had nothing to loose. It helped a lot. I went back and got more and the pain is almost completely gone. I also started snacking exclusively on almomds, since is one of the nuts allowed by the diet that I like. I have noticed some weight loss and the bladder pain is not as bad as it used to be. About the instills there are several cocktails and the one that works for you may not work for others. It is a very personal response. You may have to do a search with your doctor or try to find a doctor that knows about it. Is very difficult not having a Dr that can guide you, since almost everything requires a prescription.

Good luck,

Maria
