I was brave and ate a lot of Taquitos (very spicy) yesterday. Then on top of that, went out to the mall really quick to pick something up (35 minute drive).

And oh boy am I paying for it now. It feels like I'm peeing the fire of a thousand suns.

The kick in the pants is that I have to be at an appointment that I can't cancel, at 2pm (and have to stay out until 5). So some how I need to get this burning to stop or settle down.

I am trying my TENS unit, some little sips of Gingerale (oddly it helps me, not bothers me), and just taking my regular meds.

My question is this...I usually take Ultram for pain (50mg once a day as needed). But since I stopped the Elivil it doesn't work as strong. It barely works. I have the following pain meds (most left over from surgery or injuries):

Darvocet
Percocet
Vicodin (2 srengths)
Tylonol 3 w/ Codine
Ultram

I was wondering if any of you have tried anything on this list and had sucess. It's been a while since I took any of this for bladder pain, so I don't remember what worked and what didn't.

Thanks.

PS. I know you're not docs. and I should ask my own. But he is hard set against giving me narcotics and gets this constopated look on his face if I bring them up.

I would call your Dr before taking any new meds. Personnally I have taken all the meds you have listed. I think the Percocet is the strongest, then vicodin, Tylenol 3, Darvocet and then Ultram. But you really should contact your Dr before taking stuff like that. You may be on other meds that would conflict w/ new pain meds. I hope you feel better. I think all of us eat stuff we know will flare us. We are only human. When I do, I drink lots of water to flush it. You can also try Prelief or Tums. I think some ever take Baking Soda and mix it w/ water to neutralizer the acid in the bladder from "flare" foods. Good luck.

HI! I too think the Percoset is the strongest of those mentioned. I don't think I would take that and drive though incase it makes you sleepy. Have you tried AZO Standard? (there's several other brands that do the samething) You can get it at local drug stores and it really helps fast with bladder pain. Good luck this afternoon! Roxie

MY suggestion is to try taking either some baking soda in water or Tums --- then drink a lot of water. I agree that you shouldn't take leftover pain meds without talking with a medical professional. Was the elavil a problem for you?

Don't take any left over meds. The meds. might not be what you need and may have interactions with other med.s
