Painful Sex

Like everyone else I am having painful sex. When I was first diagnosed it was only the bladder that hurt when being touched. Now its as soon as he enters and all the way through. I went to the doctor a couple weeks ago and he kind of blew me off. He gave me meds for a UTI but stronger to numb the bladder which is what everyone suggests on this site. Well we tried and it was completely painful and there was no way that it was going to happen. Does anyone have this problem where the meds dont help? Any suggestions?

I can definately relate to what you're saying. I wrote a post last night about how just thinking about sex made me hurt. I don't know if you take pain medications but if you do it's a good idea to take some about an hour before sex. Also take the OTC pyridium and your antibiotic. Take a long, hot bath so you can relax beforehand. Muscle relaxers are great too as they help you to relax all those muscles that clench up during sex and cause more pain.

One thing you might want to think about is skipping the penetration and doing other things to make each other happy. There is a great post that Sarojini wrote in the romance and sex area of the board and it's at the top of the list of posts. Read that...it really is a wonderful, frank post.

my doc gave me pyridium to take and it did not help at all. neither does ibprofen or lubrication. like i said its not just my bladder anymore its right when entering. we tried the way another girl said and that still hurt. i made an appt with another gyno to be looked at since my abdominal doctor blew me off like i was a problem for being there. maybe they can see something?
