I want to let everyone who suffers from Depression and Anxiety know about something that could really help you. There is a program called "Attacking Anxiety & Depression." It is a series of DVD and CD's with workbooks from the Midwest Center in Oakharbor, OH. You can order the program for a 30 day trial period. If you find that it is helping you can purchase it by calling 1-800-944-9428 or go on-line at www.stresscenter.com/Peersupport. I saw this program offered on an infomercial. It was all done by Dr. Lucinda Bassett who is also CEO. She has dealt with anxiety and depression herself and that is why she designed this program. If you choose to purchase the program after 30 days you can buy the program. It is costly but they will work with you to get your payments as low as you need them. I am buying the program for $30.54 a month for 9 months. I also received a discount because I am on disability. It is totally worth it and it is risk free for 30 days. Even if you can't afford it, it is worth it to have it for the 30 days. Even though I felt that it was costly, I felt like it was worth it. I know I sound like an advertisement but if you suffer from anxiety and/or depression you will find it very helpful. You also receive a box of multi-vitamins from a company called good days and I love them. I feel better taking them as well. If you choose not to keep getting them you can call and cancel them just like the program after your 30 day trial. If you do choose to send back the program you do have to let them know about the 25th day of reviewing the program so that you can get a return authorization number or you will be charged your first payment. They will ask for your payment method up front in case you do keep the program but don't forget that you can call them to set up a payment plan to fit your budget. I hope some of you will give it a try. Depression is miserable and can feel worse than physical pain. Emotional pain can feel just as bad or worse than physical pain. Of course that is my personal experience and opinion.

I saw that too but was way to expensive for me. Glad it is helping you.

I'm glad for anything that's helping anyone. But many, many IC'ers are sensitive to multi-vitamins. Something to keep in mind.

It's not just the vitamins, although that is a SERIOUS consideration for us IC'ers, it's the fact that you're substituting a DVD for a real, live therapist. I dont think so. I hope it helps you, but anything from an infomercial gets me wondering......
I used this program several years ago (before IC) & found it very helpful. I still have the cassettes & materials & review them from time to time. I paid for the program over six months, after I liked it in the 30 day trial. I found it well worth the money.
I probably wouldn't use the vitamins, but Lucinda Bassett's suggestions about reducing chocolate, coffee, caffeine, sugar aren't a bad idea.
Just thought I'd add my 2cents worth...

I've always been curious about it - can you share any of her best advice so I can get an idea what its about. I've tried tons of things for my anxiety and never been successful yet.

It is hard to tell you about it but you can call them and ask for some literature on the program and just let them know that you are now ready to purchase the program or look at it for the 30 day free trial. They were very helpful to me. I am on disability and because of that they took $100.00 off my total. I really hope that others will try it.
Lucinda Bassett's main ideas are also published in two paperback books. They're a good way to check out her ideas if you're on a budget, though the audiotapes & full program are really best.
Here's a link to her books on amazon.
