Well thanks for the info. I am in the process of changing Doctors and I wanted something long acting for the pain. I guess I will call my current urologist and ask for something stronger than pyridium plus. He does not give out prescriptions easily. Maybe I will call my primary care Doctor and see if she can give me something. Thanks again!:)
You do realize that Marcaine is instilled in the bladder via catheter? It's not oral.

I know it is instilled in the bladder. I was just trying to get away with doing it myself. Now that I think about it I don't think I could do it myself.
It's actually not hard. I was horrified when I first heard about instillations, now I can't tell you how glad I am to have them. Yes, it's worth considering as a treatment. Marcaine/Heparin/Sodium Bicarbonate instillations have saved my career & many nights of sleep.... If you've tried the standard Elmiron, Atarax,Elavil prescriptions & still need relief, they're worth consideration.:)

you can only get it with an rx from your Dr.

my installment is a mixer of heparin, marcaine, sterile water. it gets easier with time, but you really need your Dr. to give you an RX for all of these. The Dr. will also need to give you the correct amount to use of each to put in the installments. To do it other wise could cause a great deal of damage.
everything takes a bit of time to learn, but with time it will get easier.
God bless you. I wish you nothing but the best on your journey to finding what works best for you in getting better.
sending you hugs and prayers.
Rhonda
