Sucessfull dental check-up

I have Sjogrens Syndrome. I have very dry mouth throat and eyes. I am delighted that I had a dental check-up today and have no cavities. Biotene toothpaste & mouthwash really does help alot. Also use sugeless Slippery Elm drops. I needed this good news.

Lorie, I have dry mouth too. I had surgrey Nov. 99 I had a saliva gland removed. It was swelling and caused my ear to hurt. It was not cancer thankgod. I use the gum and I have a spay salivart it helps a lot. I have dry eyes also but that doesn't bother me as much as the dry mouth. I never really thought about the ic and this being conected until I read your post today. Hope you get along great. I always have a bad dental check up but in Jan. I had a good one I think its because of the gum and less sweets.

Biotene also makes a jell, Oral Balance which helps the dry mouth. It is an artificial saliva. If you have not heard of it, you might order it and try it; it certainly cuts down on "the cotton mouth," it in turn cuts back on tooth decay. Used along with the other Biotene products, it is a Godsend. Dry mouth was sometimes keeping me awake at night. No problem now!
