Has anyone had pain in their urethra from PFD? Usually I just have a burning sensation. Typically this symptom goes hand in hand, well urethra to urethra, with IC for me, but today it caught me by surprise and it felt like my urethra was tied in a bow (it WAS my mother's birthday)! I haven't had this pain for six months or so, and my IC has settled down as I've tried to get the PFD under control.
I can't tell if it's the IC or PFD. Sure was upsetting to welcome back an old symptom. I've had the flu really bad. Severe temp, coughing, sore throat, aches and chills, fatigue, etc. Any nose blowing or coughing especially has caused severe PFD symptoms. Didn't know if it was a bi-product of the flu and it is just flared more or my IC flared for some unknown reason. Haven't done or taken anything differently. I don't know who to call...and for what...my gyno? My urogyno? My uro? Anyone? Anyone? Thanks a bunch ladies!

gosh, I don't know.. I have had the flu this week and hve pfd too.. everything hurts, I don't know where one pain begins and the other ends, it has all run together.. I am just tring to ride the tide out. If you have any urised (or any other anti-spasm) med it will help I took 2 urised, and it did help me..

I'm just taking so much med that if I take Santura, my anti-spasmodic, it's going to really reduce my urine flow, which is already down. Gonna try and ride this thing out too - we have no choice. Everything is so interconnected it's hard to know what symptom is caused from what. I haven't been this sick since before I had IC, and so I have nothing to base anything on (which doesn't mean much!) Thanks for your input. From a flu perspective I feel better, just keeping my fingers crossed (and took the antibiotic I had) that I don't get a sinus or bronchitis or worse. Hope you feel better soon!
Warmly,
Stephanie

My main symptom was urethral burning, stinging, sharp pains. I found out later is was my PFD acting up and referring the pain. Now when I get that pain I know it is PFD and do either my stretches or if its really bad just stick a finger up there and massage the band of muscles until they give up. Just hope nobody walks in on me like that.

hahah, Sami thanks for the laugh tonite.

and the reminder of PFD and urethra pain, i wonder if this is what it is for me,

I think i have urethra pain from PFD, after reading Sami's post it sounds like my pain, and it is on the side that my NP found the knotty muscles.

Its just so hard to tell everything is connected.
