Just got off birth control... late period

I stopped taking my Ortho tri-cyclen lo a month ago. My period is a few days late. Before I took BC my period was pretty predictable. Anyways, I don't know if i should be concerned about the late arrival of my monthly visitor. I read on one forum that it could take a while for my period to start again after getting off ortho tri-cyclen lo.
Does anyone have an experience with getting off of OTC-lo that you can share with me? Is it normal for my period to be late?

I went off my low dose BC last month and I was 5 days late with my period this month. It threw off my whole schedule--Now I'm going to start my period in Feb the day we leave for vacation. I should have been just finishing the day we leave. This really sucks as this is a warm weather lots of beach time vacation. I don't know if starting late is normal but it did happen to me. (and there is an absolute zero chance that I'm pregnant--my husband laughed when I told him I was late--you'd have to have sex to get pregnant :) )

If you're sure you're not pregnant then its probably normal. While its been many years since i've used a BC pill, I do remember my Dr telling me that if I were to come off of them to "be extra careful" because there was a chance that it would take a month or two before the cycle became regular again.
I had been off the pill for 5 days (due to running out of refills) and became pregnant.

If you're not sure why you're late you can always take a pregnancy test to be sure thats not the cause.

Yay! I got my period today. Well, i guess it's not that exciting... just glad I'm not pregnant. :p We stopped BC pills and are using condoms now. It makes me a little nervous. Plus, insurance doesn't cover us if we have a surprise child.
