my uro wants me to do pelvic floor therapy she is referring me to a lady in san francisco but I think it will be too far since i work f/t plus have kids & take care of parents. Is there anyone out there that is seeing someone in either sonoma or marin counties? or if you have heard of anyone?

Not sure about this term, but I am seeing a doc who is doing acupuncture, guided imagery, and in two sessions he did what he called a pelvic floor release. Is this the same thing? If yes, he is in Santa Rosa. It is part of some osteopathic work. Carl Hendel, M.D.

Check his web site: www.doctorcarl.org
I have been seeing him for about 5 months and it has made a big difference. He does acupuncture, osteopathic work, and guided imagery.
I was VERY tradtional medicine based, but traditional medicine was not doing much to help so I tried alternative approach.
The pelvic floor release was an osteopathic treatment since he felt the pelvic floore wad locked. It was a little uncomfortable but not bad. After, I felt almost immediate relief.
What kind of doc are you seeing in Rohnert Park?
I have an employee who also has IC and she has been seeing an acupunctist in Sonoma and has had good relief in pain symptoms.

No, he is on West College.
He is not a provider for any insurances, but will bill insurance for patient reimbursement.

HI-I used this site to find my physical therapist in my area. They have a long list and I was able to find deena goodman who was actually in self magazine regarding our disease. She literally has changed my life. I rarely have issues anymore. We did a lot of stretching and breathing exercises. We did not do kegels ( for me they bring on frequency) But the site was great in finding a physical therapist close to you.Hope this can help you!

The Rohnert Park person is Karen Kurtovich, Physiotherapy Associates. She's the one who did my PFD assessment.
