Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this... I was taking elmiron, elavil, and nuerontin last year. I took one medication, then added the other and then the other over the course of several months. I noticed that the medications made my pain a lot worse. I was in pain almost every single day, and almost got fired because I could hardly work. I had to stop taking the medication because I needed to go out of town really quick, and was unable to get the prescriptions filled. Long story on that and how it happened. but anyways, I stopped taking medication, and after a week or so noticed my pain almost vanished. I was feeling so much better. Now I only get really really bad pain with my period (pelvic pain, lower back pain, pain in the front of my pelvis near my bladder, and bladder pain, horrendous crampe etc) I get all that like a week to a week and a half before my period actually starts, and it lasts through the first 3-4 days of my period.

The rest of the time I don't have much pain. It hurts when I urinate most of the time, and I get a lot of pain on my left side mostly...

I was just wondering what everyone thinks of this. Why I would be having so much more pain when I was taking elavil etc. And why I only seem to get pain around my cycle. My urologist seems clueless... As am I.

I do take webutrin xl now.

I did not respond well to Elavil...can't say that is made my pain worse but it certainly did not help! Now I am on Effexor and I noticed a big difference the first month. Keep trying with your meds, there are soooo many combinations - eventually you will find that right one. Hang in there.
