Can you please share your experiences after your cystoscopy/biopsy procedure?
I had mine done about two weeks ago, and my symptoms are just worse than ever! Is this basically what happens after this procedure? Any ideas of how long it will last? I basically have worse urgency, spasms, and for some strange reason, it even feels as if my bladder isn't holding as much as it used to. Please tell me this is all temporary....

After my cysto/hydro I did notice more frequency and urgency which passed after a few days. apparently the cysto/hydro can be a treatment in itself. I believe that your bladder might get a little bit irriated since the procedure does involve stretching.
You might want to check with your uro that it is not an infection.
Are you on the IC diet, are you drinking enough water?
I hope I was some help to you.

I don't have an infection, and I believe I am drinking enough water. I am not on a special diet, but foods never bothered me before that I know of, I am new to this, I just got my diagnosis on January 5, after my biopsy. And now I am having worse symptoms than ever before, and I just hope it is from the biopsy itself, and that it will go back to my "normal" level of symptoms within a few weeks. Thank you.

If the symtoms dont settle you should call your uro.

I agree that you should call your doctor if you don't feel better tomorrow. It can take up to several weeks to recover from a hydrodistention, but you need to be sure there isn't anything else going on.
I do encourage you to give the diet a try --- sometimes it helps a lot.
Warm hugs,
Donna

They said I don't have an infection. I just hope this level of symptoms goes down a bit. Thank you.
Hi Smcclafferty
I had extra pain and worse symptoms for about 5months after my hydrodistention so you are not alone.
This is the reason why I have decided not to have any more in the future. My urologist told me it just irrated my nerves which made my symptoms worse.
i do sympathise with you and even to this day I regret having it done as I suffered with extra pain for months then when that passed I didnt haven any improvements.
it will get better though I promise but you might just be un lucky like me :-(

Oh my, now I'm really scared. Well, I guess the bottom line is, after the 5 months, did you symptoms eventually go back to your "normal" level, or did you feel that you remained forever worse? Thank you.

If you don't mind me asking, you can make it brief, what was your situation, and did it eventually go back to "normal"? Thank you.

When I had my 1st bi, I was sent home with no pain meds .No info, And had hellish pain ,burning ,pressure.I was passing blood & clots The size of quarters for 8 hours ! Ended up in the Er for another 4, They wanted to go back in and look.I said no .Bleeding stopped. The uro called 2 days later wanted to know what my problem was.He then told me I had Ic ,Hunners ulsers etc. Then I asked for somthing for the pain.He told me to go get some Advil ! I could not walk for 2 weeks, the pressure was horrible ! Then I found this site & got all support and understanding ,No Doc could have ever given me ! I hope you are feeling better & you have not had to experience what I have, We are all diffrent, we all heal in our own time.I still struggle with daily pain !:cussing: Feels like someone is stabbing me in the bladder with a ice pick over & over again.Again Im not a Doc or a medical professional , Just a Ic patient sharing my story.I hope this has helped you some .If you have any more question please feel free to Pm me any time.
Healing Hugs Sandra:cat: :cat: :cat:

My doctor is telling me I shouldn't still be in pain/having frequency at this point, which is 8 WEEKS after my cysto/hydro/biopsy, but people on here are saying that it made them worse for months (some, not all). I am so discouraged and he is making me scared. Did anyone else get worse for many weeks or months and then go back to their normal level of symptoms? Thank you.

I had a cystoscopy, hydrodistension and a biopsy and i swear if i could go back and do it again i would have never done it. the pain was the worst i ever had and i caught an infection. it took about 2 weeks for me to stop bleeding and feel a little better and then it took about a month after that to go back to how i felt before all that was done. feel better...

I HAD A BIOPSY DONE AND IT DID NOT HELP AT ALL. WHAT HELPED ME WAS THE DMSO AND THE PAIN PILLS, ELMIRON AND TENS UNIT
SPEAK TO YOUR URO

Well, I didn't get the biopsy/cystoscopy/hydrodistention to get relief, I got it to help diagnose IC, but it made me worse. Thank you.
