Underwear?!

So I had a long flare, which I posted about earlier, that lasted about two weeks. I had some tests done, and was placed on Macrobid.

For those two weeks, I didn't wear underwear because it was too painful (even white 100% cotton underwear). The flare has gone down quite a bit, as in I feel okay and I'm peeing okay but I still am finding it hard to wear underwear! I thought it would just last while I was feeling unwell but now all of a sudden, everytime I wear underwear, it burns after a span of 5-10minutes!!!!

I have had IC for almost two years now but I have been able to wear my cotton underwear without it being so uncomfortable. It's just this episode after which I'm finding it hard to wear it. Any suggestions?????

Is it possible you've developed a sensitivity to the detergent or fabric softener you use? You might try double-rinsing your undies and not using fabric softener for a while to see if that helps...

It could be although I've been using ALL hypoallergenic, no dye detergent and I don't use fabric softner, just Bounce hypoallergenic dryer sheets. :/

I would skip those Bounce sheets - keep it real simple for the time being until you can sort things out.

I have the same issue with underwear. I have just gone with out them.

I buy underwear that's probably a size bigger than I need, not too baggy, but not snug either. Snug will set off a flare every time. I also double rinse the laundry & for pads, use only Kotex ultrathin pads.
