I wanted to post about this supplement. I have used it in the past and then stopped. This spring I started it again and took all summer until fall when I stopped it again. Maybe it is just a coincidence but my bladder is astoundingly better when I am on it. I have been off it for about four months and a week ago I woke up with my eyelids practically stuck to my eyeballs because my eyes were so dry. I put genteal drops in for a few nights but kept waking up like that so I decided to start back on the Hydroeye. Within a week my eyes and bladder were remarkably better. I have not changed anything else as far as my medication. My bladder has been awful all fall and I could not understand why because it was good all summer. Anyhow, I have no affiliation with this product. I heard about it under this topic years ago when my eyes were really bothering me and used it for probably two years. Then I guess I just got busy with kids, work, school, etc and stopped using it. If anyone decides to try it and has any luck with it let me know as I am interested to see if it is a fluke or it really has some value for ICers, as well as, people with dry eyes. It is just vitamins, magnesium sulfate, Cod Liver oil and some other omega oils. -Vicki

You'll want to check this out with your doctor just to be sure there aren't any ingredients that will conflict with any other medications you are taking.

Fish oil is an excellent source of omegas which help with inflamation. I take anotehr supplemtn fro dry eyes whcih also contains vit A D and E ( I think C and B as well) and it helps a lot with the dry eyes. Omega is also an antinflamatory that's why it may help itf there's inflamation in the bladder. It has so many good benefits. Who knows!

All I can say is I am sleeping through the night again since I've been back on it. Haven't done that since before I quit it the last time. My pain level is definitely reduced so I am going to stay on it. My eyes are also not dry any more. -Vicki

Another thing that is good about cod liver oil is it's a big source of Vitamin D. There are some studies which suggest lack of Vitamin D might play a role in autoimmune disease development, and adequate Vitamin D might help allay it. But of course never take more than the minimum RDA of any vitamin without consulting your doctor first as it could be very dangerous.

Blessings,
Lori

Lori- That is really interesting! Maybe that's why it is helping me. I take four softgels twice daily. The suggested dose is four softgels three times daily. It says that the % of the RDA is not established on the bottle. It has Vit A, C, B6, Magnesium, Black Currant Seed Oil, Mucin Complex and Cod Liver Oil.
I saw that you were having trouble with your kidneys since taking the cyclosporine. I am so sorry to hear that. I pray that you will be healed. No one deserves everything you've been through. This disease is brutal. -Vicki

Lori is right. If you take more than the recommended daily dosis, some vitamins like "A" stays in your sysmten and goes to the plasma, and it could be very dangerous. Other vitamins like "C" are eliminated so no problem taking a littel more. I can't remember which ones are teh vitamins that are dangerous to overdo so I'm just sticking to what is recomended. Anotehr thing is that if you want a good source of omegas, it is beter to stay with fish oil rather than Flax seed.
It's been found now that it is very difficult for the body to metabolise omega from flax seed source I read two articles on that)
Last tip: if you are taking fish oil, it has to come with a combination of Vit E to promote the absorbsion.
Have a good day all.

Where do you find Hydroeye? At a vitamin store? I'm curious to look at it and see what it's all about.

Thanks!

I get mine off the internet. Just Google it. I have not seen it in the health food store. I originally learned of it on this website several years ago. -Vicki
