Don't you just love it when they finally figure out or decide to use the potty. I don't blame you for being excited!!

I remember that moment in my daughter's life. This is a funny story.
We had just moved into a new house and Susannah was 17 months old. We were opening some boxes of kitchen stuff, and I had the contents of one box spread out around me. One of the contents was a large plastic mixing bowl. Susannah came toddling into the room, saw the bowl, and said, "Pot-tee!" Then she took off all her clothes and her diaper and proceeded to pee in the bowl!
She wasn't perfect from that moment on, but she was easy to train.
What a relief to be freed from diaper changing. Of course, now you're at the stage where every time you go out, he'll suddenly announce he has to go, and you have, like, a minute and a half to find a public bathroom :)
Congratulations to your son. It's the best when they are self-motivated. My friend's son simply refused to use the toilet until he was almost four -- try to imagine what that was like!

:woohoo: Colten is 2 1/2 also and is going to the potty also but he is doing the #2 and refuses to go pee in the potty. My girls were the opposite they pee'd but refused to pooh in the potty. Give Griffin a big high five for me

Thanks everyone,
I will have to give Griff lots of high fives. I was so proud of him last night, from the time I got home from work just after 5pm until he woke up this morning he didn't have one wet diaper. He went in the potty everytime! He even stayed dry the whole night! My baby is growing up

He slept through the night, dry?! Boy, are you ever lucky. Susannah wet the bed until she was seven or eight.

He doesn't stay dry everynight and he's still in a diaper at night but I still think that it's a pretty good sign when he just started potty training a week ago that he can stay dry the whole night. He's telling me when he has to go w/o me asking as well which I think is really good though I don't have anything to base it on since he's the first kid I've ever potty trained
