I have to report that I still have not been able to stay on Elavil, or Cymbalta due to the side effects. I wish I wasn't so affected by meds. Some people just seem to be able to just get on them and go. I sure would love to hear some encouraging stories today. I'm feeling really blah!!

What side effects were you having? I have been handed a RX for almost every SSRI/anti depressant known to man. Every one of them has made me feel basically manic and I had to stop taking all of them. I really don't feel bi-polar most of the time unless I've been taking one of those meds. My doctors are convinced if I just take them I'll be able to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get going with my life...they just don't seem to understand. I take my Rx's from them, and then just never get them filled. I'm tired of explaining over and over again!

I am on my old good friend Prozac again, and can say that this med is the only one for ME that actually helps me and doesn't have any side affects, short or long term. Cymbalta also threw me for a loop, when my dr wanted me to change meds. I don't have time for that right now. I was really surprised by the effect it had on me, considering all of the other meds I have tried or am on, none of them affected me the way Cymbalta did.
There are other meds in the Elavil family, have you tried any of those, maybe just a slight checmical difference would enough for you to tolerate it.
Best wishes...

Thanks Sandy and Briza,
Yeah I feel a bit manic too when I take anti's. It changes my personality quite a bit. I am a bit bluesy sometimes, but other than that I'm pretty okay mentally!!lolololol The bladder pain is what is getting to me the most. I have been better than in the past symptoms wise with diet etc..., but still have such urgency and pain upon my bladder filling, and I know Elavil is suppose to help this. Not to mention the back pain that comes with it~! Thanks for sharing.
