I'm taking nortryptiline 10mg. once daily and am feeling better. Will I have to increase my dosage over time and what side effects have been experienced?

Some people go indefinitely on very low doses.

Thanks for your input! I'm worried about weight gain. If I stay at this dose do you think that'll be a problem?

I took nortriptylene for about 10 years. I started at 10 mg once a day, and the dosage had to be increased through the years. About a year ago, 100 mg no longer did the job, and increasing the dosage made the side effects (dry mouth and weight gain) HORRIBLE! However, on the lower doses, the side effects weren't too bad, and it bought me 10 years of feeling normal! So if it's working for you, stick with it as long as you can tolerate the side effects (I know the weight gain is tough - I'm short, so 20 extra pounds for me is horrible) and you might get a few years' relief, too. Good luck!
