It is in the high 20's up here this morning. I am watching the weather and they are showing where the freezing rain is headed - the next batch is on its way to where I am but not here yet. It is raining a little though.
It is COLDDDDDD and there is supposed to be more next weekend too!!
Stay warm!

It's cold here but the ice didn't really materialize into anything serious. Yeah for having the power on! Stay well and warm.

I am so glad I am at home with the heater turned on high :smile tee

We now have ice at our house. The steps to the porches are slippery and covered with ice. The flag is not flying any longer because it is stiff and frozen :)
It is so cold and windy. I can't wait for the sun to come out tomorrow and melt this ice.
Be careful and stay warm :smile tee

We still have ice and it is still raining!!! People around here freak out when we have ice and they drive like idiots......of course they freak out when we just have rain :loco:
I am so glad I don't have to drive anywhere but I worry about my family being out in this mess.
Stay warm :smile tee

We had it all in the Austin area! RAIN, ICE, SLEET AND SNOW!! I am so sick of it all that I want to see Summer again!! I have been cooped up in the house since Saturday when all of this started. But hey, at least I didn't have to go to work the last few days (Monday was a holiday--Tuesday and Wednesday the office was closed). I made it in once I got out of the drive way-- I went down on my rear end on the porch and steps (6 in all) but that was the only way I was going to get down to the car!!:)
It was icy this morning where I live (live out in the Country- but once we got towards the City it was pretty clear). Its supposed to get bad again later in the week but not as bad as it was.

Hi Steph4308, I'm in the DFW area also. The town is called Bedford. Are there any IC groups that meet up in DFW?

I'm in Fort Worth.
Just moved back...due to this network I made an appointment with Michael England and had my first appointment with him yesterday. He is an awesome GYNURO. I was dreading leaving my uro behind in FL as he was super. Yesterday I had a great appointment!! I would highly recommend Dr England if you need someone with an understanding of IC in the metroplex.:smile tee

Welcome back :welcome:
Don't you just love Texas??
I am so thankful that you found an awesome doctor here. I know that has to be a huge relief :woohoo:
I went to a new urologist today in the Houston area and I am really pleased with my visit also. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I will get some relief from the IC.
Once again,
Welcome Home :hi:

If you will look on this post there are a couple of members from the Fort Worth-Dallas area that might be able to guide you in the right direction. I noticed that one of the doctors in that area is Dr. England.

Olivia6217....I live in Denton...I had a uro in McKinney, but that is an hour drive away. I'm really looking for a urogynecologist because of my Vulvodynia problem also. What course of treatment did Dr. England recommend? I'm so tired of going from doctor to doctor.

I'm in Austin, and it was probably the same time we did, in Mid-January--Around the 15-18 of the month. It was pretty darn cold. I know yesterday it was 80 degrees - same as today. Tomorrow its suppose to be in the 70's. Pretty warm for "Winter". But thats Texas for you. First Winter that I can remember that I had to wear my coat for days in a long time.

Hey Briza, I grew up in Corpus Christi! Are you near there?
The weather was nice there. Not too hot in summer because of the wind, and mild winters - or at least that's how I remember it.
It was lovely to move from Corpus to Richmond, Virginia and experience the four seasons for 7 years. And then I moved to Dallas; hot, burning hot, ice, etc.

CarolinTexas,
May I ask which doctor you are seeing in Dallas for your IC and VV? I've been searching for a knowledgeable doctor in the area. I live up near Denton.

I saw Dr. Christopher Pace just a week or two ago. He is a urologist with offices in Bedford and Richland Hills and was recommended by my pain doctor. He was nice and spent tons of time with me. However he ordered an expensive test (urodynamics by a neuro-urologist) for nerve damage to start out with. He seems to be focusing on this because of my spinal problems, but had no explanation or proposed treatment for any of my other symptoms (odd food sensitivities, clitoral pain, vv, night sweats etc). He even said I may or may not have IC because there is no blood in the urine and an ultrasound revealed that I was able to empty my bladder. This could be because I have been self-treating for a few months with alternative herbs like marshmallow root plus a few others which I believe have helped.
In short, he was extremely nice, honest, not at all pretentious, and not very helpful for my other symptoms. I have delayed the expensive test indefinitely until I complete my alternative candida/parasite treatment. I am self treating on this as doctors just haven't been helpful other than prescribing pain and other medication.
People rave about a urogynocologist named Dr. England in Fort Worth. My own gyn recommended Wade Lowry, also in Bedford.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

I'm in San Antonio. Anyone from this area that can give me a name of a Dr. here for IC? I have seen two uros, but both not too knowledgable in that area and I was the only female in a waiting room of about twenty or so 50 and 60 year old men. I want a Dr. who really knows their stuff. HELP!!!!!!

I've noticed no one answered you. All I can say is just call around or do you have a doctor referral service who can direct you to one. I go to a doctor where I'm pretty much the only female there as well, use to bother me but not anymore. There is also a list of doctors on this site as well. Good luck.

Mary, what dr. do you see in Austin? What treatments are they using or do they want to use? I might be willing to drive to Austin for a dr. who can help or who at least knows anything about IC. I spoke with a Dr. Carley in Dallas over the phone a few nights ago (I had called his office looking for a referral to a uro in SA and he called me back himself and talked to me for an hour). I instantly loved this man, he said he considers himself an expert in IC and that he loves to treat it, it intrigues him. I sure wish I lived in Dallas. He didn't know of any doctors in SA though, I told him he needed to make friends. He said he is constantly doing research in this area and will continue until a cure is found, YEA!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner!
I go to the Urology Specialists and See a Dr. Michael McClelland. (His offices are on Red River near St. Davids Hospital) and his # 512/477-5905. I have been going there to see one doctor or another for over 22 years. (This doctor about 6 years). Dr. McClelland sent me recently to See a Dr. Grady Bruce in Round Rock (about maybe 20 miles North of Austin (he is an Urogyn and more of a specialist in IC as he thought he could help me out more, but I just didn't like him (wasn't comfortable with him or his staff) so I went back to my other doctor.
As to treatments because I'm a high-risk patient due to my heart valve replacement, the only thing they will do for me that the cardio doctor agrees with is the hydro every 6 months (thats the only thing that I can get off my coumadin and be put on Lovenox which is another type of blood thinner); anything else I have to be off everything and we're not going to risk it. I am also taking pain medication.
Hope this helps you.

Dette: One more thing, Dr. McClelland as far as I know of only has offered medications, installations and Hydros. But this other doctor (Dr. Bruce) I know he does the Interstem and botox, I don't know what else, like I said, I'm high risk. So if that is what you are looking for you might want to contact this other one. Again, good luck.

I am looking for an IC specialist or a uro/gyn in the Abilene or Lubbock area. I live in Abilene and I don't like my urologist. Does anyone know a good urologist or uro/gyn in either of these areas? I am in the early stages and need someone to help me fast before it progresses. I am willing to drive to any town in West Texas!

I live in Lubbock and I think the best URO is David Aronoff, he has been wonderful. If you want more info on him let me know and I will help get you in touch with him. Also I am starting a support group in Lubbock and our first meeting will be June 12th at 7:00 pm if you would like to join us. Please let me know I am here to help any way I can; I know that the first few years are the most difficult. Thankfully I am able to keep my IC flairs under control. Thank you and have a great day.

I know this is kind of an old post but I am in the DFW area as well. I think it would be awesome to meet sometime and get to know each other. My doc is Dr. Carley in Dallas who was mentioned earlier in this post. He is the most awesome doc I have gone to for IC and is the one who put in my interstim. I love him to death and highly recommend him and his office staff!

I live in DFW area, as well-North Richland Hills. My uro's name is Dr. Marie Blanche Tchetgen (Urology Associates of North Texas) in Los Colinas. She is very nice. I've heard a lot of good things about Dr. England, but he doesn't take my insurance. Someone asked about a support group in Ft. Worth. There was one that met at Harris Methodist downtown once a month, but I don't know if they still do.
