Angela,

Sorry you are feeling bad. I hope the Dr. gives you something that works quickly and gets you to feeling better.

My son, Collin, had an ear infection a few weeks ago and woke up screaming in the night. It was so bad I had to call the Dr right then. He was screaming so loud, I couldnt even hear his Dr! I put some Lidocaine on a cotton ball and put it in his ear, and it must have helped, cause he calmed right down!

The Dr. told me to alternate Tylenol and Motrin. I know most ICers cant take anti-inflammatories, but if youare one that can, it is worth a shot!

He had the N/V too. Thank God I had some Phenegrin on hand. I asked his Dr if I could give him some and how much, and she told me to give him 1/2 of of a 25mg suppository. It knocked him out and he finally got some rest.

I took him in to the Dr the next morning and he had a raging ear infection. She also told me to put him on the BRAT diet, as soon as he could eat. (Bannanas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast.) I know most ICers cant tolerate Bannanas, but if you can, a few bites might help. (You lose alot of Potassium with Vomiting and diarrehea, and it can cause some wicked muscle aches in your legs, among other things!)

Also, dont forget to treat yourself as good as you would someone else who is sick, and rest, rest, rest!! Keep some cool cloths on your head and chest to help get that fever down and make you more comfortable. Force those fluids too! It will help get the fever down, and get you rehydrated. The last thing you need right now is to get dehydrated, we need you here!! :)

I hope that you get over this soon, and get to feeling better soon!

Lots of hugs,
Amy

well, i went to the doc he told me my right ear is fine and my left ear is alittle red it's a ear infection the name of it is otitis. he put me on promethazine it treats nausea, vomiting and motion sickness. he told me that he don't think antibiotics wouldn't do any good. if this doesnt clear up i'm going to give him a call and tell him he need to put me on something els the ringing is driving me crazy i can't take it.
