Hi All!
I have a question on in office cystoscopy. I had one done in september 06. It showed inflamation in the bladder. At the same office visit I had a urodynamics test done also, which show normal bladder capacity.
I know it has been awhile since my test but i just thought of this question: If it showed inflamation during in office cystoscopy would my bladder look any different with hydrodistention?
I know you may not be able to comment on that but just wondering if anyone has past experience with that?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Doing an in office cysto and one in the OR done with the hydrodistention the bladder would look different. The hydro is disentined to show pin-point bleeding, hunners ulcer, and so forth. This would not show up on a regular cysto done in the office. Those can not diagnose IC. Even doing the urodynamics which showed a normal bladder capacity does not say when the hydro is done would show a normal bladder capacity.

I have had all those things done. While trying to get my IC diagnose I had the in office cysto, urodynamics, urtheal dilation and none ever showed my IC. Only after having a PST test and then the cysto with hydro did I finally get my IC diagnose. Best of luck to you

The Patient Handbook at http://www.ic-network.com/handbook has some good information on diagnosis.
