Hello Everyone!

My name is Erika. I live just outside Kennebunk, Maine. I have been having IC symptoms sice I was 16- I am now 21. My doctor "suspects" that I have IC, but he is giving me a urodynamics test and an "in-office" cystoscopy in the hospital:lmao:to rule everything else out. He has been treating me as though I have it. He has a terrible bed-side manner:evilsmile but he is very smart and takes me seriously. Also he is not scared to give me narcotics if I need them. I have been dealing with the usuall IC related issues such as lots of days off at work, anxiety, depression, and just feeling useless. I was so excited when I found this board:woohoo: with people I can understand and relate to. I was engaged last may to a wonderful man. He is supportive of me, but gets really mad if I dont follow the diet right:tsk: anyways its great to have the support!

I just wanted to say :hi: and :welcome: to the board. You've come to a great place with a lot of great people here! If you haven't looked yet, at the top of this webpage is a link to the patient handbook, which will also give you a link to the IC diet. The ICN shop also sells IC friendly things, and some special treats too. Theres lots of help here, and lots of shoulders to cry on when you need it. I'm glad you have a supportive man in your life, that makes a big difference!

Hugs, Sandy

:welcome:

Sounds like you're off and running in terms of working towards a formal diagnosis, and I am happy to hear you're already following the diet :)

You've found a great group of people and I hope you feel free to post here regularly whenever you need support! :grouphug:
