Hi :)

Does anyone do indoor rock climbing and notice any negative effects from it on their IC or PFD?

Thanks!

Hi!

You know, I'm no expert, but to be honest, I think you are best off seeing how you feel & trying it if you are already at a fitness level for it. Maybe do an easy climb on a Friday night or Saturday. That gives you the rest of the weekend to recover if your IC/PFD flares. I think your own body is the best judge of these things. The main thing, I would guess, is if you are at a fitness level that will let you move as you need to without overstrain.

If you try it, let us know how it works out for you!

Hey -
I've been a rockclimber for years and I have never experienced an increase in symptoms when rockclimbing, if anything it lessens frequency urgency and pain, b/c you are totally focused on something else besides your bladder - The harness that you wear wraps around your thighs so it doesn't actually abrade the crotch area. it is a great sport to try out. good luck!

Thanks so much for your replies! :) I'm so glad that there's something else out there other than gentle exercise that I can do to stay fit.
