How long after ?

How long after having sex, would I notice if I started to develop a UTI ?????????

I had sex lastnight for the first time in a very long time. I have drunk a lot of water and had a shower straight afterwards. I would have had a shower before, but well you know how sometimes you get caught up in a moment LOL - I would have gotten my DH to have a shower too, but too caught up in a moment.

I do have IC, vulvadynia and endo. I have a little discomfort down there today. I am starting to feel a little anxious and already starting to worry.

I'm unsure what the window of time it would take a UTI to rear its ugly head.

Hmmm...it varies. I take an antibiotic after sex to keep my utis to a minimum. But, I have to admit my fear of UTIs totally takes all the joy out of sex!

I have a fear of UTIs after sex. Not sure how long after DTD it would show up BUT what I do to stop them is pee b/f and after sex and also stock up on my water intake the next day. Seems to have helped me a TON.

Sex can cause irritation, even without a uti from (so I've heard) immediately afterward to a day or two later. However, usually when I think I have one, I go out and buy the at home test strips. Azo is one brand that makes them, and tho there are slightly obscure you can usually find them at a drug store or even order them from the icn shop I believe. I hope for you that it's only just slight irritation.
