Dear All,
Has anyone felt irritation in their bladder? I just want to go and give my bladder a good scratch!! I hope I am not going crazy but thats what my bladder has been feeling the last couple of weeks.
Does anyone feel this? If so, can you please tell me if you have tried anything for it?
Thanks
Lorena

If your bladder is usually fine and you have no infection, then it could be some type of allergic reaction to something; soap, panties, pads??
If the itching continues or gets worse you should be checked to be sure you dont have some type of infection such as yeast or something else?

Lorena,
I felt like that before I went and found out that I had IC in November of 2006. I feel like I am itching on the inside of my stomach/pelvic area. In fact, I thought I might have an ulcer. My husband talked to my dad about the way I felt the itching and burning feelings and he suggested an ulcer. When I went to my gyno who is a specialist in women's diseases, he recognized the pain and other symptoms I described as IC. The itching is before I get really bad pain. I have learned that it is a signal for me. Itching, sharp shooting pains, and lethargy is my signal signs so far. I am trying to follow the diet exactly. I am hoping that in time it gets better. I do elmiron, zoloft, enablex, and premarian. I had a hystorectomy last May. Since I have been on the diet though, I am trying to see if I am allergic to something which is what has caused the itching feeling. I found out by accident that I was allergic to cephlosphorin and the itching feeling came from the inside and traveled out. Hope this helps.

it is frustrating!! I have the irritation in the pelvic area. I have had tests to see if it is a yeast or urine infection but everything came up normal.
I drink plenty of water because I know if you dont your bladder can become irritated and I am following the diet.
its one thing after another with IC, the moment you think i feek ok something else creeps up on you

I understand what you mean. What about the type of water? When I drink natural spring water, I feel so much better. My folks have an artesian spring on their property and I can tell a huge difference with that water, and my tap water. I live in a city, and they live on a farm. Their water is always 60degrees straight out of the ground, and has a ph of 7. It is filtered naturally through the sandy ground that it bubbles out of. It looks like a boiling spring. The closest I have found to it is Ozarka Springs spring water. Fro the last two days, I have been out of OS water, and drinking filtered tap water. I am itching inside as I type. Hope that helps. And yes it is fustrating!

Hi Lorihoss,
It could be the filtered water I drink??? I am from Melbourne Australia and our water is supposed to be very good to drink. maybe I will try bottled water for a day or two and see if there is a difference.
Thanks
Lorena
