Back with different DX

I posted a few weeks ago with a probable IC DX. I had a cysto today and do not have IC but I most likely have PFD. The urologist noted that my bladder was fine but my urethra was irritated and had polyps?
I am scheduled for a CT IVP in Feb. and until then he wants me to take Flomax. Anyone with any experince for me. I return for a follow up visit in Feb. He said if thing don't improve we would move to the next step, which would be what????

I'm not sure what the next step would be in this case. Did you have the cystoscopy with hydrodistention in the operating room with anesthesia? Or did you have a regular in-the-doctor's-office kind of cysto while awake? If you had the in-office cysto, it would be quite easy for a doctor to miss signs of IC -- the hallmarks of IC often don't appear until the bladder is distended beyond what happens in the office.

As for the polyps, perhaps your doctor will prescribe antibiotics if they are infected, and/or remove them if they are blocking the urine outflow from your bladder.

Again, not being a urologist, I can only guess... the best thing would be to call or go in and talk to the uro in depth about the tests he's doing, why he's doing them, and exactly what he plans to do with the results...
