NIDDK Releases Report From Fall 2006 IC Conference

For those of you who want to read, in it's entirety, the report of the big international IC conference last fall, the NIDDK has just posted the report. Fair warning. It is VERY academic. It's kind of like attending the doctoral dissertation debates... instead of just one study though... you've got a few hundred.

It would have been great, to hand a copy of this report ,to the team of Mayo Clinic doctors who said my IC symptoms were all in my head! That was 1969. All those years, and two pregnancies without any treatment were torture. I couldn't tell my gyn about my bladder pain because it was supposed to be imaginary. I developed a severe bladder infection in late pregnancy, but never allerted my doctor because I thought he would think I was crazy. I was in very bad shape, with excrutiating pain, when a urine test during a routine visit showed the infection. Sooo many years, sooo much pain. Thank you researchers for finally giving IC patients the respect they always deserved. Thanks Jill for posting this info.
