Are there certain brands that are found to be better? I have ALWAYS had pain/serious discomfort with tampons but use them anyway. It's been SO much worse this year and I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago. I was wondering if there was a connection and if so if switching brands/styles might help. I've only tried the walmart, pearl, and beyond this year. Unsure about any others.

My VV specialist told me not to use Always brand as it seems to contain something that irritates the vulva. She suggested Kotex or a natural product that is 100% cotton which can be bought in health food stores. I found the natural products have a tendency to bunch up when moist, but others I know really love them.
There are tampons that are very slender that are less problematic.

I find Kotex pad products to be the least irritating. Don't know about tampons, I've never liked them, due to leakage & discomfort upon removing them...
Don't know if that helps, I think this is a bit of a trial & error kind of thing...
