Does anyone know why I would be vomiting with certain foods now, when before I was diagnosed I didn't. My doctor isn't giving me a very clear answer. Thank you for any help!

Are you on any medications? I know there are some meds that make me nauseated.

Not yet. I do take 2 tablets of Prelief before I eat something I'm unsure of, but it's not all the time.

I've been on Phenegren for waaaaayyy too long. I always thought it was a problem with a gastric bypass I had done in 2003. Found most of it was other meds I was on. Hopefully its just a med side effect. But I was wondering what you are taking for your stomach. Is it called prelief or something else?

yes, i take prelief. and tonight i had another episode where i vomited. my husband and i were at a friends house and i ate some foods that are a 'no-no.' well, i was in the bathroom not 5 minutes after i finished eating. the food doesn't even have time to digest it seems. i'm just so frustrated and curious as to why i throw up now, but i didn't before i was diagnosed and had surgery. as i said, my doctor is not giving me clear answers and i'm thinking of going to another doctor to find out why i am sick now. if anyone has any idea as to why, please let me know. i am not taking any other medications than the prelief and i will vomit even without taking the prelief.

How long ago (sorry, I'm new) was your surgery? Is it maybe linked to that?

extreme pain makes me vomit...i vomited right through my labours and often when i void now...i sometimes think its a psychosomatic reflex to give me something to distract myself...do you experience pain with these foods or anticipate pain? just a thought...hope you get over this soon...hugs

jmk...i'm new as well, so no apologies! my surgery was on dec.11th...and i asked my doctor if it was due to my surgery and he said no. i went in for surgery for my endo., and came out diagnosed with ic as well.
lisalau...i'm not sure about the pain being linked to the foods yet..i started a meal diary where i write down eveything i eat, and the pain i experienced that day, but i haven't been at this long enough to find a pattern and to see which foods cause me pain. i am in pain everyday though which is something i've been dealing with for almost 2 years.
thank you all for the support..hopefully i can figure out why i am vomiting soon because it's really depressing me.
