I'm pregnant for the first time. My IC has really flared up during the past three weeks. My ob will not let me take the meds that really really help me -urrelle and detrol. Instead, I'm stuck with uristat, which I find awful, and benedryl or ambien for sleep. He also told me that it would be safer for the baby to go under anesthesia for a bladder distension than it would for me to continue with the uristate/benedryl/ambien for the duration for the duration of the pregnancy. I'm nervous about undergoing anesthesia while pregnant, but I feel desperate for relief. I have an appointment with my urologist next week to discuss the distention. Has anyone found successful and safe treatments during pregnancy? I need relief, because I am an emotional wreck while this is going on---I need to be able to focus on my baby, my job and a huge exam for which I am studying at the end of February.

I`M FROM DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, SORRY BUT MY INGLISH IS NOT SO GOOD, I HAVE SEVEN MONTHS, AND I ONLY HAD TAKE ACETAMINOFEN FOR THE PAIN, THE OTHER SIMTOMS THE FRECUENCY AND BURN I DON`T TAKE NOTHING FOR THIS, I KNOW IS VERY HARD, BUT FOR ME IS MORE INPORTANT MY BABY, I THINK THAT THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE DOCTORS DOESN`T KNOW MUCH ABOUT IC AND BABYS.

I HAD BAD AND GOOS DAYS, SOMETIMES A LOT OF FRECUENCY OR PAIN, I JUST WANT TO KNOW, HOW IS GOING MY LIFE? WHEN I HAVE THE BABY?

I'm sure that both our babies will be fine. I recently saw my urologist and he assured me that the urrelle and uristat I have been taking is not hurting my baby. I have good days and bad days too. I'm just going to hang in there--6more months to go.
