I am being evaluated for possible sleep disorder. Trying to figure out if I wake up due to pee, or wake up because of a sleep disorder and then pee.
The doctor told me not to take Atarax if you have a sleep disorder as it causes the problem to be worse as it stimulates the brain. I thought this was interesting as a lot of people use Atarax for sleep. I guess the problem is if you have a sleep disorder?

I have a feeling about what your dr is talking about. Just about all cold & allergy meds, antihistamines give me the eebie jeebies at night, feels like somethings crawling on my skin, I toss and turn all night in a state of semi sleep. Maybe that's the brain stimulation???? Never asked about it, just avoid those types of meds at night, but I am able to take some of them in the daytime without problems....claritin and allegra for just allergies, without the decongestant. Have never taken atarax, so don't know if would have that affect on me. If I had a sleep disorder, I would not want to be on those meds that give me that feeling. Best wishes!
