Throbbing Flare!

Boy...I just can't take it anymore. Need to vent! I had an immediate flare start after taking some fennel tea monday night. I thought I was going to lose my mind. Within a few hours the pain escalated to a panic point. I took ativan but it took a while to get me relaxed enough to sleep for a few hours. the next morning I woke early to pounding bladder pain. I don't take pain meds because I react to most of them. The pain has been going down my legs causing buring all the way to my feet. I just want it to stop! I don't know what to try or what to do anymore. I am so cautious with my diet and even tired a half a cup the night before of this same Tummy Tamer fennel tea and was ok with it. Now that this flare has been set in motion it seems like it doesn't want to go away! I just want it to stop!!! :rant:
This is a perfect holiday treat :(
I have so much to do and people fo dinner sat night. I feel like calling off christmas!

It is unfortunate that you can't take anything for pain. Can you take acetaminapen and ibuprofen? My doc said that it is safe to take them together at the same time because one helps with pain and the other with inflammation. It is a little better than nothing at all. Also, have you taken any Azo? Ice packs give a little relief when I am in a bad flare. Hang in there and I will say a prayer for you.:angel: I hope you get relief soon.:kissing:

Thanksfor the well wishes........can't take ibuprophen either as it causes more bladder pain. Ouch!!! just thinking of it is making me hurt........:(

If the flare was caused by the tea, hopefully it will pass soon. Be sure you are drinking enough water --- and you might try taking some Tums to see if that helps.

Are you able to take anything that would numb the bladder, like pyridium? Or AZO (available over the counter) How about a heating pad, will that help with the pain?


Ive been flaring again too.........this month has been very bad for me....so you are not alone.

Thanks guys. I am getting a little better each day but sometimes it seems liek I take one step forward and then 2 backwards. I'll fell a little better and then out of nowhere feel worse. Mich, I a sorry that you are flaring too and hope that today gave you some relief. What are you doing for the pain?
Donna, I am drinking water all day.... a little at a time. it seems like you have it pretty much together. Do you flare often? If so what do you do and is it mostly food and drink? That seems to be my problem. I gave up smoking. Although I am under a lot of stress I don't feel flares come on after stressful times...........just diet.
Rachann, I took ativan .5 last night and one quarter of a soma as my dr recently prescribed. I had the worst time with the 2 meds together! I was weak, dizzy, headache........sort of like a drug-over all day. I am such a weakling that I can't take large doses of meds or combine. The only thing I took today was tylenol and it did nothing. I'm going to wait for things to simmer down before I try anything new in the way of meds.

ok this is going to sound really weird but what helps me is to put a tiny, tiny lil bit of tea tree oil on your urethra (I emphasize tiny because if you use more than just a dip on ur finger or get in anywhere else it will hurt like hell!)
I think the only reason this works for me is because it creates a tingling sensation that off sets the burning pain. I wouldn't recomend doing it more than 2x per day though.
I'm having a flare up right now 2 and pyridium does not work for me and neither does detrol. we are having a bbq tonight @ our new house and i don't even feel like being around anyone!!!!!!!!
