Hey

Great idea for topic. I can't tell you how many times I have to see strange doctors (meaning strangers not necessarily weirdos:lmao: ) and by the time I get through the list of illnesses they fall off their stools in either overload or disbelief. (I always want to say "it's quite elementary Watson...look at the patient's autoimmune history"...) Anyway...I know my docs want to run when I come in except that I am usually very nice. I adore my GP and even though he is across town from me I won't change docs b/c he knows all my illnesses, fears, quirks, and medication regimin. I can't even imagine trying to start this with a new doctor. Besides, my doctor really trusts my judgement and what I know about myself. He isn't condenscending. Last year I had a horrible reaction when we tried to switch to fentanyl. I broke out in hives and eczema blisters and my face was swollen. We were at the beach. (in November...very cold) I called the first allergy doc I could find (because I thouht I had eczemza...BAD) and she switched me to a specialist who took my medical history. over the weekend she went to some confernece on accupuncture and pain relief w/o narcotics. (that's what they thought it was) I kept trying to tell her I had tried that but she was so keen to this guy's session she wouldn't listen to me. I even told her where the bladder meridians were in the body and how complicated they are and that they have to stick a needle in the apex of your pubic bone. (you have to be shorn for them to find the spot easily and I just wasn't into buying 15 refills of blades, thankyou) She sent her report to my doc, he said "you should give accupuncture a try" I rolled my eyes and said I was all for eastern medicine, used it for migraines but ...explained what i just did ...he said "oh, she didn't mention that" I said " yeah, she didn't let me get word in edgewise". Just nodded and kept going. guess that's a compassionate bedside manner technique they teach. (she's young enough to have gone through that training....grr)

Anyway....sorry for the rant..like the listing...it's awesome.

:grouphug: I have had doctors and nurses see my med list and hystory and say, is this all true? Their in disabalief so much can happen to one body and one so young. It does make it hard to start with new doctors because there is soooo much information for the doctor to take in. Doctors struggle to look at the big picture with me but it is such a big picture it is hard even with doctors I have had a long time. :grouphug: So glad you have at least one doctor on your side to help you!!

Thanks..and I wasn't knocking accupuncture at all. I think Eastern medicine, meditation, looking at illnesses such as these from a wholistic view like naturalpaths do (my spelling is terrible) is a very good way for people to go. They should try all else before riding the narcotic dragon...I was just frustrated with her reaction to me as I tried to tell her....at that point I knew more about accupunture than she did...I had to fill in the blanks.."well, Eastern medicine believes your body has, uh, uh........" I say...."meridians...they channel from various points and a very imp......" "yes..meridians...that's it.. well accupunturists put very tiny painless needles in a various points"...."yes to stimulate the channels...and it ain't painless if you are like me and for some reason have a high sensitivity topain on my skin" She really frustrated me. I did tell her I numerous sessions with migraines and tried a couple with bladder but it was expensive and I had to pee everytime the needles were placed. but they don't hear.

Anyway....I see up there you have ext.fatigue. as one of your probs. i have that but I suffered that before my diagnosis just a s a fact of my nasty migraines. now I believe they are my meds but fatigue, like my appetite (listed elsewhere) has changed into something really wierd. like narcolepsy. I can be talking to someone and fall asleep. I'm fighting it now. I haven't driven in weeks. I had a car accident while driving BUT I was wide awake. I feel. especially in a laying down or car passenger spot, like I go from 100% alert to knocked out in aboug 10 secs. you know who's car you don't want to ride in, ha, ha.

tke care.

I was at my doctor's yesterday for my regular monthly appointment. I looked at my chart as he was reading it and saw that on the inside of it he writes down/lists all of my medical problems and has them numbered. It filled up both sides of the chart so I asked him how many I had. He told me he even had started an extra sheet with my problems and as of yesterday the count was 31! I guess I collect health problems like some people collect other things:lmao: They dont even bother to put my chart away- they always keep it out in case I run into problems. I guess thats kind of sad, but great that my doctor keeps on top of all my problems, right?

Judith: I always wonder if my doc does the same!!!!He and I are on first name basis and he knows my phone # by heart...(not the reverse...I have to look his up) he honestly worries about me but knows me well enough to stop pushing and can tell by my face, body language how I really am. If only eveyone in such a dilema could find such kindness. I feel terrible every time I think about what can happen to people without help!!!! What can get done...I guess this entire health care system leaves brhind those w/o health care and who are chronic pain patients, as well. It makes me sooo ANNNGRY

Anywhere......take care

I think things may be doing a wee bit better right but I say twith 1 hand behind my back and fingers crossed ( you should type that way) I took myself off Zyrtec and Singular last week(for asthma, allergies...MyIC is Mast cell caused so the zytec should help with those symptoms.) I have, though, decided my need for alertnessis outweighed my pain from infammation (I am on morphine, valium, and oxycodone anyway) I also reduced y usage of topomax from 150 mg to 100mg...pain has increased but not os badly that pyridium doesn't help ( Thus far ) But I've had to cath myself twice since being here. I think I need to get a bladderscan and finout why redisual urine..."sigh"...but, I am not nappy at the drop of a hat...

Tal to yo later. Sorry about typos...strange computers and keyboard..I miss strokes.
