Well, been on the generic version of zoloft for about 2 weeks as of yesterday. I could feel the weepiness and depression creeping up on me all week! My mother came in from out of town yesterday for my birthday and as soon as she walked through the door, the dam broke! I started bawling like a lunatic, shaking and just generally acting CRAZY!! She arranged for me to get my hands on a FEW real zoloft and within a couple of hours, I was back to "normal" again! Just a little problem with the prescription though, I have that stupid mail order Rx program and I JUST got 3 months of this generic crap so they won't refill the script with REAL ZOLOFT!! Anyone else had problems with the generic??

I haven't had this problem with Zoloft but I have with a different medication. The problem was that the medication did not disolve into my body in the same way so there wasn't the same amount in my blood till I was on it a while. Both the real med and the generic worked but with both it was like starting all over with the med everytime I switched. I believe I have had problems like that when doing mail order too which is why I avoid using it too much now. I am very careful about using it for a med that any changes in dose, or whatever may come up.
I don't know if that is what is going on for you or what the best thing to do is other than talk to your doctor.

Sometimes the generic drugs are made a different way & that will cause some to not absorb it properly or have a lesser effect.. not sure I took the brand name & I was nothing but tired (sleeping 9-10 hours a night) for the entire 9 months that I took it.
