I am a 36yo mom of two that has been struggling for a year or so with IC. I had some trouble about a year ago but after an IVP, that showed no abnormalities, whatever was causing my pain went away. In Nov. I had my tubes tied with a lap. procedure and since then I have been in terrible pain. I finally saw a urologist today and he feels that my GYN's DX of IC was correct. He also looked back at my IVP film and said my uterus is tipped towards the front and it is pushing on my bladder. He didn't say either way if that could be causing any trouble??? He scheduled me for a cysto(sp?), but it is in the office??? I have been reading on here that most everyone has it done in the hospital. He said he wants to look at the inside of my bladder and see what, if anything, my uterus is is doing to my bladder. I am am huge wimp when it comes to pain and I am already dreading this procedure.
I am full of questions......just a little overwhelmed....I am hopeful that the pain will finally end and I can feel better soon.

Thanks for any help, Cheryl

Hi Cheryl,:welcome:
I had my Cysto/Hydro done in the hospital, but I think when you have the hydro done you have to be put under, so thats why it has to be done in the hospital, but I have heard of people just having the cysto done in the drs office, but if you are worried you should really talk to your dr before you have it done, its your body!!! Well im glad you have joined us at the ICN, IF I can help you with anything just let me know.:smile tee

The office cysto is part of the "ruling out" process. If you've ever had a catheter inserted, that's what it feels like --- not fun, but not horrible either. I find that if I concentrate on relaxing, it really helps. And it takes less than five minutes.
