I have one pack of cigarettes left.... I'm trying to quit. My husband quit right after our honeymoon. I think by quitting it will help with the pain, but more importantly I want to quit, because I want to have a baby next year and really want to smoke free for a while. I need support!!!!!

I'll support ya, kit! I am in the same situation. I'm going to find out soon if I am pregnant-and then I will give up smoking. I quit before while I was pregnant, but eventually started again. PM me if you need any encouragement! I hope I can do the same?!!
Good Luck to both of you. I never have smoked so I have no idea how hard it is to quit. So it is hard for me to give any helpful tips. I just wish you luck.

Good luck!!! We'll be rooting for you!!! :)

You can do it!!! Each day will get a little easier. Take it day by day. And make sure you have a supply of gum, suckers, straws....They can really help.

I wish you luck, keep hanging in there, hugs Iris grouphug

I think it's great that you are quitting. It's not easy --- I know --- but I quit almost 20 years ago and don't miss it at all. After I quit, I know my bladder felt better. And I know I stopped stinking like smoke.
When you get tempted to light up, think of it this way --- it's a known fact that smoking is a bladder irritant. If you wouldn't consider pouring acid on an open wound, why would you even think about putting nicotine in your raw bladder. You are stronger than that little piece of weed.
Sending an encouraging hug,
Donna

Thanks guys!
Donna-I have thought the same thing. I'm not going to say anything to ANYONE this time. I think it will help.

You go girls!!! I know you can do it!!! If I can do it you can. I quit a few years ago with my husband. He stayed not smoking and I started back up again 4 months later. He used to give me such a hard time about being a quitter. I couldnt' smoke in HIS house so I had to go outside in the snow, rain, hail, didn't matter. There I sat freezing my butt off in the middle of winter just to have that cigarette. What a complete idiot I was....lol It's been about 6 months since I quit. This time I didn't tell anyone. Last time everyone reminded me of smoking by asking me how NOT smoking was going. One day last week, my ex came over to see the kids and noticed I wasn't smoking, didn't have any ashtrays laying around. He said in this really negative tone...gonna give it another try quitter? you can't quit, you're a quitter you can't do it. It made me feel SO good to throw in his face I haven't smoked in 6 months. And the look of doubt on his face as it washed away to a more shocked look was even more gratifying.... :D

Thanks for all this support guys!! I'm moving into my new house at the end of October and I have already said no smoking in the new house for anyone, so that will definitely help. It's just so stressful right now. Ugh. Most of the time though I don't even want a cigarette. I think that this new medicine I started on monday.. Neurontin is actually vegging me out so I don't feel the need to light up.. as strange as that seems. Works for me.
Jen_Cole you can definitely PM me for support. I can give it, the question is can I do it. I've been smoking for 16 years. OMG.. That's more than half my life.... scary thought. I can and will do it... it'll take some time though.
Thanks again everyone grouphug

You can do it!!!! I quit 6 months ago. I just went hour by hour. It's 10 o;clock I can make 11. At 11 I can make 12. Sometimes a couple of hours went by without me relizing it. My bladder feels much better.
