Does anyone else have migraines? I just went through two weeks of a straight migraine, and I wonder if anyone else does. Now I am having a major IC flare because of all the drugs I took for my marathon migraine. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
I used to get migraines all of the time, but they've seemed to cut back a little with age. sometimes though, when my allergies or hormones are acting up I will get one of the 'marathon migraines' that won't let up for days. Those really can drain you. Only get about 3-4 migraines a month now and for me that's better. I take Maxalt for them. Its really expensive but it is the only thing I've found that will take them away in like 30mins and with no side effects, seriously, its worth the $15/pill, its worth anything to get rid of a migraine. I have found that if I have a really bad one and have to take an exta dose it will make me flare up. Lately though, the migraines alone have been giving me frequency. I don't know if its my body trying to fight the pain or what, but if I have one and its not so bad that I have to take a pill, it will cause me alot of frequency until it finally goes away.

Ever since I got IC I have dealt with migraines. Mine come and go. I can go weeks months without one and then when I get them they come and go alot. When I do get one it can last up to 4 days and I have to get a shot to get rid of it. I never had a migraine before I got IC. I have also had a flare up when taking migraine meds. Especially Exderin Migraine. I guess it was the caffine in it.

I'm sorry you also have migraine headaches. I have those, too, from time to time during or after my period, so have to take Midrin starting on the 6th day of my period. For some reason, that's about when they strike. If I go all day with one though, I go to urgent care, and they administer antinausea and pain meds into my rump. 20 minutes later and the pain is dulled to the point I can sleep.
Man, I hate migraines!

i went through a period a year or so ago when i got a cluster migraine that lasted for at least 1 month. it was nasty. then just a few days ago i ate something that had preservatives and i got a terrible one. the only thing is that now my stomach is such a mess that the immitrex i used to help me before only upsets my stomach more now. does anyone have any ideas for a homeopathic remedy or other migraine medicine that doesn't cause stomach upset?

I have been getting migraines since I was 12. It's one of the side effects of the mitral valve prolapse I have. They can get bad and last for days. I end up going to a dark quiet room with an ice pack on my head. I have in the past gone to the E.R. for them. Or I have taken pain pills my husband sometimes gets for his back pain. I usually get a bad headache right before my period. I havent noticed that they are linked to the IC but I have just recently started writing everything down to try and find patterns for my flare ups and leakage.

I know what you mean about the migraines. I only recently figured out (because the 20 doctors I've been to in the past six years are worthless) that all of my health problems are connected to my bladder. If I'm havng a good bladder day (no retention) then I don't have leg pain, I don't have the sweats, my hands don't remble, I'm not tired, I don't get headaches or migraines, etc. If I'm having a bad bladder day, I'm having leg pain, migraines, fatigue and everything else along the way at the same time.Everyone keeps trying to break up my symptoms into different things, but I have this feeling they're all connected. I just wish I knew how to make the retention STOP. If you think migraines are bad, try not being able to pee when you REALLY need to. It's horrid. I hope you find a solution--I'll have 2 week migraines and I know how badly they STINK. Ugh. GOOD LUCK!
